A little bit of bright side.

I know our defense has given up a ton of yards to the running backs, and I know this might not mean much because it is what it is. However, if Decoud didn't have an awful angle to give up that huge run to Gio, he would have had a very mediocre day.

Without that huge run Gio looks like:

17 carries, 48 yards, 0 tds

That is 2.8 yards a carry.

We also held Jeremy Hill to 2.7 yards a carry.

So maybe our defense isn't as bad as stated by the media, and maybe you shouldn't be so giddy about starting a fantasy running back against this D.

If you don't wrap Lacey up and take bad angles like they've been doing on those long runs he's gonna go beast mode idc how much you think Lacey lacks in the speed dept.

True, and a 4.44 sec. 40 time isn't exactly slow by any stretch.  Especially when you weigh 230 lbs.

Rivera actually said this in his presser. He told the journalists not to lose sight of the improvement. He called it that "one play".

It's like do you want to get hit in the face with a hammer or a baseball bat.

This is my main concern with the defense.. we get people in ideal 3rd and 7+ yard conditions and can't seem to get them off the field.   When we get pressure good things happen.

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
