I have missed two Panthers games in eight years: one in 2006 when I went camping with a girl I was trying to get with (she shot my ass down) and another in 2010 when I was in Thailand (and those games were pretty expendable anyway.) I refuse to work Sundays at any job I work.

Fast forward to this week. Lots of poo happening at my bar. I told them I could take the shift, because even though the hotel is going to be filled with dumbass middle school teachers who will invariably line up at my bar and take sixteen minutes to order some bullshit with Malibu rum and grenadine and then bitch that they can't taste the liquor in their pineapple juice, I still have a television mounted against the far wall of the bar, so I can at least peer over their slovenly hairdos to watch David Foucault pancake Saints players all the way into Sean Payton's drug stash under the gatorade cooler on the sideline.

But then what happens? I go onto NFL.com to look up Kelvin Benjamin's rookie stats so I can comment in the all-rookie team thread with a projection of his stats for the year, and what's the first article?

"Thursday Night Football Moves Exclusively to NFL Network."

What the fuck? What is this shitty shit? The reason this is a problem is because the TV in the bar is on a network that doesn't get NFLN. The massive flatscreen in the lobby eight steps from my bar is big and beautiful and gets NFLN, and that's where I'd ordinarily be watching the game on a slow night, and using the bar TV as backup. Now I don't have that option. Now my ability to watch the game depends entirely on how long it takes idiots to stop being idiots at my bar. Which in my experience is a very very very long time.

TLDR: cbs doesn't show TNF anymore and PhillyB might need a new job on Friday.

I hate having to watch the game at work.. I mean most people would consider that lucky but people have a knack for pushing my buttons when the Panthers are playing.  Like the idiot who was Cutler fan shouting "Cam is overrated".  Or this past Sunday when everyone was cheering for the Seahawks (LA is a bandwagon city).  I just hope tomorrow no one says anything stupid or disrespectful but maybe I'm giving people way too much credit.

Good luck dude.

Call a family member or friend (maybe even here on the Huddle) and get their username/password and u can stream it live by using their cable/satellite provider

Inconvenient sure, but it's an easy fix

of all fuging games for the first fuging cutoff

Edit: also, the middle school teachers that are staying at the hotel should be easy targets. I'd be shocked if you don't get 2 or 3 room keys for when you get off shift.

    • Why are you so fixated on yards? Even if yards were a good judge of QB play, his low yardage totals in some of those games were partly a function of drops (looking at you Xavier Leggette…).  I’m not advocating that Bryce was elite for the last half of last year, but the eye test certainly supported high level QB play for large stretches. He made a lot of high difficulty, put it on the money/drop in the bucket throws. He converted on 3rd and 4th down, kept drives moving, and put the team in position to win games. And it’s not on him that the defense blew it late after he led game tying drives, Leggette dropped a game winning TD, or Chuba fumbled the ball in OT. We could have finished the season close to .500 with wins against 3 playoff teams including KC and Philly during that stretch largely due to Bryce’s play.    Has he sustained this level of play long enough to deserve an higher ranking? No. But for judging based in that stretch alone, he would. But whether he can perform more consistently at that level or build on that, and thus earns a higher ranking, remains to be seen.
    • Totally agree with you, if we had invested in drafting a corner or two I wouldn’t even ponder adding Ramsey. But, to be honest we legit added nobody to our corner room this offseason we have nobody worth developing. Even if Chau Smith Wade is better then what I think, he is the only guy we have invested draft capital into outside of our starters.
    • Look at his snap counts, your telling me that his entire college and pro football career every coach he has had has misused him? No offense but I don’t think you understand the role of a slot corner. Mike Jackson is the literal definition of an outside zone corner, he would be totally inept as a slot corner. Ala why he has been an outside corner his entire career.
