proehl on philly

He's decent but I wouldn't compare him to Ginn. Philly also catches every ball with his chest. He needs to learn how to get out of the punt returner mode and learn how to catch with his hands

I'll bet that's why Cam throws so high. To teach the young receivers to catch with their hands......

How about figuring out why, when he actually is a deep threat, the team has tried forcing Jason Avant and Jerricho Cotchery into that role instead of using a guy who was actually suited for it?

Philly came in and showed in week two what he was capable of. How did the coaches respond? By sitting him back down and throwing deep balls to possession and red zone receivers.

My word, the coaching on this team is awful.

Proehl is the guy who chooses which WR start and are on the field at any particular time, right?

We have been bitchin and moanin about no one getting separation.  No one that can go deep.  Brown did that in one play.  His speed will open things up.  I would not be surprised to see KB, Brown with Bersin in the slot.  Remember Bersin is 6'4" with really good hands.   Just for the record.  Brown was recorded .01 behind Ginn.  The boy has speed and will be something Cam sorely needs.   Even if he doesn't catch all of them.  Respect the speed.   Going to open things up.  Running and Passing.

I liked Avant but if he and Cotchery are the same player.  Why keep both?.  Would be fun to see Presley and Brown on the outside with KB Running in the slot. My only concern is Shula figuring out how to use them.

Head coach sets the depth chart, though as Deac said he likely listens to Proehl.

The question would be how much.

If you wanted to go into tinfoil hat mode, you could say "hey maybe what Proehl is really asking is why Philly isn't starting", but I'd call that a colossal reach.

    • What people fail to understand is Lance had a college career that lasted about as long as teenage boys first intercourse.  To say he was raw was an understatement.  So much so that even a QB whisperer had a difficult time molding him into a polished NFL product on top of multiple nagging injuries.  The dud is in his mid-twenties, finally healthy and little miles on the tread.  Low risk, high reward.  If he's available, it would be stupid not to kick the tires.  It took Darnold and Mayfield to hit their 3rd or 4th team for things to finally click.  This is Lance's 3rd stop, I believe.  It's either time for it to click for him or be relegated to a full time backup. Roll the dice....
    • Wrong.  At least we put a QB sneak in the play book and and add plays over 20 yards.
    • I don’t know if people realize that Evan’s was one of the top TE prospects in college  before having some horrible injuries. I wanna say he had two major injuries in back to back seasons which limited his play and dropped his draft stock.
