Confused on our Special Teams play

I need some help on this, is it that we don't have the right players or is coaching?

many have pointed out that we have never been great over the years, it seems like it our scheme sucks...is it that hard to find good special teams coaches? I know some of the special teams are duel role players, are they issue?

Also, can I quote myself?

It's not often that I get it right...proud of the boys this morning.

the sky clears....

We rush well, get some picks and Newton drives for the win in the 4th...and Harper better have a chip on his shoulder.

I have no choice, not a Saints fan and i want our core players to have some pride again. I do agree that we will make some stupid plays having the young guys out there, but make them at full speed and play hard with a short memory.

This a divisional game and I take it personally...they will be up for this game and we need to remind them that even if we suck, we can always put them away and crush their dreams...besides Payton and Ryan will be fighting each other if the get behind, and that is priceless...

I can let the blocked punts go, since it was cold and we don't usually have that problem. But something is wrong with the coverage, makes sense our outside coverage is not working...

Rodgers came from holy cross as a defensive coach...but I guess having Ginn helped him last year on the offense.

Richard Rodgers.

Teammate of Ron Rivera in college.

Coached defense at the much lauded Holy Cross.

Teacher of men, lover of puppies.

Dehaven is an assistant and is a long time NFL special teams coordinator and is regarded as one of the best ever. Sometimes it is the players....mosy of the time it is the players.

I'm pretty sure the announcers said the special teams coverage was coaching. They have no lane discipline.

You think announcers know what they're talking about? They get paid to sound like they know what they're talking about.

He went step by step to explain why coaching is the problem, everyone knows Richard Rogers was never qualified to be special teams cord. I mean, look at his resume.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
