Rivera: "Learned from first Atlanta game to stay aggressive"

"Cannot expect to win this football game by kicking field goals" Quotes provided per S.Reed  and J.Person.  So Rivera is saying all the right things today at the podium today. He really should have come to this conclusion after previous Atlanta games  (actually we have heard this song before), but better late then never. Here's hoping that he doesn't get sphincter freeze when it comes down to the aggressive attitude.  Hopefully he takes Shula aside and relates to him that the red zone play calling needs to produce. They can beat this team if they stick to their guns and do what they say. Pound the piss out of them with Stewart then slice them up with K.B, Cotch, and Olsen.  Have faith in the offense to get a yard or two when needed and go for it. If your going to talk the talk , you better walk the walk.

Really Ron ... how insightful.  Seems like we heard that before.

Should have said, 'It was asinine to put on the brakes and leave our kicker with a 46 yd field goal attempt.  Especially considering how well we were moving the ball and the time left on the clock.  But hey, I am still learning.  Next time I won't bring a skirt and will let my players finish the game ... without handcuffs and poor game management'

I was doing family Xmas stuff and didn't get to see the game, but I saw that we started kneeling to run the clock down with like 2 minutes left on the 2 yard line instead of scoring. How does this fit in with the 'stay aggressive' philosophy?

Well, you see, it's a process.

at the end of the game??? No point in trying to score when you can go into victory formation.

Got no beef with that. Browns couldn't stop clock and it ended game.

Techically, if you score a quick TD you then give the Browns a chance to still win

Seriously? That's your example of them not staying aggressive? That's just fuging dumb. The Browns were out of time outs. The game was over. Kneel down is the only play in that situation. Why risk a turnover when all you have to do is kneel on the ball and win the game. Goddamn...

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
