Who's better than Norman?

6 catches for 59 yards last time (less than ten yards per catch) on 11 targets isn't enough proof? Plus on top of that hes less healthy than last time?

MJ had the flu and went ham when he was in the NBA? JJ could light up Norman as easy as Norman can eliminate the threat of JJ. I have rational expectations. One game is such a small sample and very inadequate in use for defense. I love Norman's passion and gameplay. All I ask is stand back and wait for the results. Read up on the Law of Small Numbers.

For a second, let's disregard his occasional idiotic mistakes. Speaking purely in terms of being a cover corner, who is better right now than Norman? I would say Sherman, Revis, Peterson, and (maybe) Talib. Anyone else?

This can't be serious? You think maybe their are only 3 better CBs?

Man, a couple good games against bad teams really change perspectives. Suddenly we have no OL issues and a shutdown CB...I guess Ron is a good HC too now

Norman has been a shutdown corner this entire year when healthy as starter, and against really good receivers. I wouldn't call him a top 10 corner YET but if we're only taking into account the past month or so he's easily been a top 5 corner.

Who have we played this past month?

Saints suck. Bucs suck. Browns suck.

Oh, Teddy Bridgewater and his all star WRs?

Look, Norman is making improvements. That is good. I acknowledge that. But people are drastically jumping the gun on him.

In the NFC South alone I would put Keenan Lewis and Desmond Trufant above him right now.

I'm a big Norman supporter but he has just now (meaning the 2nd half of the year) started to look like a starting caliber CB.

He did a good job against Julio the first time and has done well against Evans, Gordon, and Patterson, but I would think Norman is just now getting on an offensive coordinator's radar in terms of trying to alter anything to exploit his weaknesses.

I want nothing more than to have Norman and Benwiekere be our starting CB unit for a few years to come, but it is way too early to crown Norman anything.

Our standard for good CB play has fallen so far since the days of Gamble/ Lucas when they were in their prime that we get excited over anything

    • Ehlers needs to sit. Definitely can't lose him to a meaningless game.
    • Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying
    • I don't think it's at all a given that we have players who are good at driving the basket. I guess that depends on your definition. Bridges is 43rd in attempts in the paint Miller is 64th and LaMelo is 66th. We all love to see the lob threat but it's largely miniscule at this point in time. There's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who consistently can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
