Every Sunday, I would drink out of a certain coffee cup, put my freezee mug in the freezer, cook my designated football snacks, wear my jersey, and watch the game. We were doing horribly, so a few weeks ago I decided I was wasting my time and stopped worrying about these rituals. We haven't lost since.

Not everyone. PFF has us unanimously losing.

A majority of the ESPN and NFL picks is also in favor of ATL

Of course they are. Atlanta has the most to lose due to the fact they are playing at home in front of their fans. Carolina is the underdog no matter what. We really just need to show up and play tough and hard football.

Please tell me why all these threads are overlooking ATL.....If you forgot we 7-8-1....Steamrolling into the playoffs.....I think not we still have an OC who playcalls like a teenage girl trying to pick out a prom dress. Let's slow our rolls a bit and not set up the huddle for a crash on sunday.. and yes...I want us to win but I'm looking at this game like every  division rivalry game...a straight backyard dog fight.

Because you are reading the Topics and not the content.   Read deeper and you will see most comments are prefaced with "IF".

Also notice there hasn't been nearly as many "Shula is the worst play caller in history post".   Reason is, Oline playing better, offense looks better.  Stewart running better, WR's more open, Cam is not overthrowing so much because the pocket is breaking down like a fold out chair from Walgreens.  Defense playing better because secondary is playing better.

im not one to believe in bad juju, jinxes, or any superstition of the sort. I recognize that for this Panthers team this year, the Atlanta Falcons are a serious threat in their dome with the division title at stake. Are the Panthers capable of beating Atlanta? yes most definitely. Will they beat Atlanta? nobody knows and i, for one, just want the Panthers to make it a competitive game and give it their all. If they get outplayed by Atlanta, then the team will be rewarded with a high draft pick. But the chance for the first ever back-to-back division title in the NFC South to be forever credited to the Carolina Panthers has me excited. Couple that with the consolation prize of a playoff appearance and at least one extra Panthers game this season to cheer on my team and i am fuggin psyched.

all that said OP, i dont think anyone is overlooking ATL. and even if they are, its superstitious to think that the way one fan or even the way the whole fanbase views a game will affect how the team itself plays. it doesnt matter if we the fans overlook the Falcons and start wondering about what the potential match-up might be if we win this week. it doesnt matter if we believe our team is going to win. all that matters is that the team knows they will get beat if they dont prepare and take care of business. fan musings have no effect on that.

It's been a while since I've been this excited for a Panthers game.

á la 2013. i was this psyched for the Patriots game and the home Saints game last year. haven't been since until now.

Despite the fact that recently,  the Panthers went into N.O and gave them the worst home loss of the Sean Payton era...and their worst home loss in general of the last 11 or 12 years.

and that was back when NO was supposedly catching fire.
