Scouting Cardinals

Jackofalltrades

Scouting isn't the right term, but I did have a chance to watch the condensed version of their match up with the 9'ers. Below are more observations.

RB Taylor is a shifty, quick cutback style runner.

Lindley had plenty of time in the pocket. Several nice, quick throws into tight windows.

First TD came on flee flicker to open Michael Floyd in end zone.

First int was to a covered RB on the check down- terrible decision

Second TD to Floyd along sideline who's open after getting behind coverage.

252 passing yards at the half

3-6 third down conversion

19 first downs

2nd int looked like a bad decision and miscommunication.  Thrown into triple coverage and looked like it was designed to go to a DB rather than  WR who wasn't in position to even attempt the catch/break up. As he came back to the sideline Arians asked him who he was throwing the ball to.

Darren Bells - TE targeted early

Lindley is mobile enough to extend plays but gets frazzled easily

LT getting away with some egregious holds

Williams running well

3rd Int thrown into triple coverage.  Targeted same guy (number 12) as second INT. Thrown into a crowd, terrible decision.

2nd half - Lindley 56 yards 2 Int

Defense

Very aggressive front

Poor tackling, lot of missed tackles early

More bad tackling

DL is undisciplined with gaps while rushing. Gaping holes for Kaep to run.

Kaep is just clowning the D with his legs.

Gore is gashing the front 7

Summary- Lindley is a very capable QB who can make all the throws. He's has good arm strength, can move in the pocket or leave the pocket to extend plays.

Isn't afraid to throw into tight spots, both a good and bad thing.

Floyd was his favorite target and had a huge day. Also likes his big TE's. Saw very little of Fitz. 12 was targeted at least twice (2nd and 3rd int)

I would copy the Atl game plan. Hit Lindley early and often and make his get rid of the ball quickly. Stay disciplined because you never know what Arians will pull out of his bag of tricks.

Very winnable game, but based on this it's not the cake walk some are making it out to be.

You mentioned tackling...

@BlackBlueReview: According to @PFF, ARI missed 27 tackles while getting run over by SEA & SF the last two weeks. ARI missed 92 tackles in first 14 games.

Exactly why Deangelo shouldn't get a single carry. We need to take advantage of this and we have the perfect back for it!
