Official Panthers - Cardinals Playoff GameDay Thread

lol of course Cam is the problem according to these "analysts". What about the 2 first down drops by KB? No mention of Cotchery stopping and turning on his route. It's all on Cam folks. All his fault.

Ryan Lindley hasn't played well either. The ball is wet. Coming into this game the Panthers honestly should have knew the weather would affect it. So focus on the run. We ran well, Shula decides to throw it 3 straight times. Results in turnover

You guys are the biggest bunch of nancies I've ever seen. Arizona can not move the ball the length of the field to score on this defense. Pound the rock and play field position and we will be fine. We have showed we can move the ball but we need to clean up the play calling in the red zone. Settle down and play within ourselves and we win.

Those mistakes that haven't been corrected or tuned. Which is coaching.

Can you tell me when you have seen Cotchery this season not finish his route? Or can you tell me when Bersin went close the ball to touch it for the opponent this season. It's rookies and veterans making critical mistakes.

You act like he hasn't missed open throws you are right he hasn't played as bad as they make him sound but he hasn't helped matters much either...

So where were you in the off-season advocating for Cam to get better weapons? Where were you in the off-season when the Panthers yet again dump a disproportionate amount of resources into the defense? Where were you in the off-season when the Panthers let go of all their WRs and did little to nothing to replace that WR core with a better one?

I don't know. Cam isn't looking GREAT, but 2 of those passes to Dickson looked like he could have made a better play on the ball. KB can't catch again today, and Philly just dropped a TD. I don't think Cam is playing as bad as everyone is making it seem. He ain't gonna put the ball in the receivers' chest every throw. Funny, his throws to Olsen and Cotchery look fine - when they're looking for the ball.

It's been a mix. Newton has definitely had some poor throws and missed reads, but his reveivers aren't exactly doing him any favors either.

I think a lot of us are actually with you.. and agree with the recipe.. but we have NO CONFIDENCE in the playcalling offensively.. and wonder if Newton can overcome a bad first half.

    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
    • Just like we overpaid for Wharton.
