Okay, I know the sting is still fresh, so sleep on it if you must, but I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on this. Did you feel better about going forward after our loss last year vs San Fran, or our loss this year @ Seattle?

My personal thought is even though this season we didn't come close to matching last years totals, I think we're positioned in a much better spot going into the future.

Last year (at least to me) was a VERY pleasant surprise, but I felt like there would be a big step down in production this season. We hit on a lot of stop-gap players last season, but we all knew they were temporary players that would need replacing.

This season, we made it where we are with a VERY young roster, and expect us to have a better 2015 season than I expected in 2014.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I like where we are now (at 7-8-1) over where we were last year after our surprising season (12-4).

Thoughts?

*Not counting playoff games in our record, since I know somebody will mention it.... likely sooner now that I have this disclaimer :P

I added 2 un-related questions. Many people are posting they think Rivera should be fired, and many that don't think Cam is a franchise QB. I think those believers have extremely unrealistic expectations of where Cam should be right now, especially with Shula calling plays. The Rivera thing I can see how some people can debate, but he got us a division title in back-to-back years (yes, I know about our division suckage). He also instills belief into his players. They never quit on him. I find it remarkable what we did with the talent we have, and a big part of that is on Rivera for a job well done (and G-man of course).

So those 2 questions are just out of personal curiosity. Is it really that many that want Cam & Rivera gone, or are they just the outspoken ones?

When most people have no idea what the problem really is and can't fix it, they bitch and whine hoping someone will fix it for them. These are called Saints fans and don't belong here.

Even the Seattle fans that visited the Huddle complimented us about our group knowledge and nice disposition. So there's no excuse to stupidly spew verbal diarrhea here because you're upset we didn't win. Guess what, we're ALL upset! And shooting off at the mouth isn't an adult response, and makes the Huddle look like a bunch of idiots to the players that DO read and lurk here. Great message you're sending them by calling for their heads. If you're that pissed off at them, meet them at the airport and tell them to their face how bad they sucked.

We had a better offensive performance on the road with rookies. 2014 was a better loss. What a weird question to ask though.

That was my mistake on the writing. I tried editing it after making the thread, but couldn't. It should be "After which season did you feel better about our team's future." Sorry about the odd wording. After 3 am, brain no work well

I will say this about the poll: It's kind of like separating the wheat from the chaff. EgoDogg should edit the poll to include question about Shula. I'm interested to know what the breakdown for firing or retaining the OC as well.

I don't think there's a need for that. If there's anyone in favor of keeping Shula, they're reputation as a poster will be tainted forever. Haha

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
