Guys that get paid think otherwise.  He's had a top 10 D for 3 straight years.  Yes, Rivera has his hands on it but it's still ultimately his responsibility.  

 

It would be a big loss.

If, and a big if, CAR loses McDermott, there's silver lining that coaching hires are going slower than prev years. Folks will be available

General belief is if we lose McDermott, Wilks gets promoted to DC.

Wilks was reported to have been Rivera's first choice for the DC job but San Diego refused permission to interview.

If McDermott goes, we're likely looking at backfilling a secondary coach.

This is very true, considering that the "heart" of our team is essentially the defensive side of the ball.

When it comes to defense, I will trust Rivera's judgement in picking McD's successor.
