Boxing is the Sears of professional sports. Use to be good and relevant but makes money somehow.

I prefer boxing over mma. Total bloodlust.

Worldwide, boxing is still very popular.  When I was in the Philippines a few years ago, Pacquiao's popularity was greater than any athlete I can remember in the US.  Boxing is very popular among Hispanics, and throughout most of the Latin American countries.

Not that I really care though.   I would watch wrestling (the fake kind) before boxing or MMA, and I am not really a huge fan of wrestling either.

Ppv is set at $89.99 but don't be surprised if it jumps to $99.99 or even higher for HD.

May 2 is also the Kentucky Derby so expect lots of money being exchanged that weekend.

I read an article that as of today, tickets sold out in 10 minutes and hotel rates skyrocketed. a basic room in the Cosmopolitan is $999 a night and even a crappy room at the Circus Circus will be $199 per night.

This already is the mostcl lucrative fight and there is still 10 weeks to go.

I took a liking to boxing this summer while working at the Barclays Center. Was working the Provodnikov/ Algieri bout and the Garcia/Salka (lol) massacre. Saw DeMetrius Andrade one of those nights, as well as Lamont Peterson. After being ringside and working behind the scenes, meeting Freddie Roach and Oscar De La Hoya I came to appreciate the sport much more and enjoyed the entire spectacle.

I'll be watching.

If you think it's painful watching the video, being there in person was even worse. I felt bad for Salka as soon as the fight began. Totally outmatched... Can't believe Danny even took this fight. Dude is a clown.

My single favorite day of the year just got better.

I'll be at the bout. Looking forward to it. Not going to be nearly as good as other fights I've been to, but this should be a very good matchup. I hate Mayweather but he truly is an amazing technical fighter and defender. Pac has the power and bursts to possibly get a KO on Mayweather. If it goes to a decision I doubt Pac can get the points to win it. Mayweather does it so well. I hate his style so much but he's a great fighter. Not a big Pac fan but I'll likely be betting on him, since Mayweather is favored. Just gotta say neither Pac or Floyd is in the top 25 pound for pound fighters of all time. Can't believe some people actually believe Mayewather is pound for pound the best ever. Disgrace.
