FA Cornerback Byron Maxwell - Tiffany's or Target?7 y

Is he in our price range for FA or is he going to be one of the top paid CBs?  

 

On the one hand, we would be set at CB:

 

Norman (6'0", 27 years old)

Maxwell (6'1", 27 years old)

Benwikere (5'10", 24 years old)

 

I know Gettleman hits the bargain bins like a champ, but he did mention that we would be a little more active. Does Maxwell fit that or is he going to cash in and get priced out of our range?

he's from SC and went to Clemson, tough to tell what kind of price he will be asking for considering his individual skill level is hard to ascertain on that defense

 

I'd like to have him at a good price, but I think another team would outbid us

Super Bowl team free agents almost always see inflated values in free agency.  Especially when they're starters on what is widely considered to be the best D and best secondary in the league.

I don't even think Maxwell is that good. He's going to get paid CB1 money when he's only worth CB2 money.

He played more as the CB1 than Sherman. Teams move their best WR away from Sherman, and Maxwell excelled against a lot of good WR's.

It's a zone coverage scheme and the unit as a whole exceeds because of Chancellor and Thomas.
