It is about to get real

PALATINE, Ill. (WLS) --

Cook County health officials are investigating a cluster of measles at a KinderCare Learning Center in northwest suburban Palatine, officials announced Thursday.

Lab testing has confirmed measles in two children, and results for three others are still pending. All five children are under the age of one and are residents of suburban Cook County.

Poor kids are under 1 so they haven't been able to get vaccinated for the measles fully yet. They are paying the price for parents choosing not to have their school mates fully vaccinated.

Moron parents who don't vaccinate their children are going to be the cause of many child deaths in this country this year. This is just the beginning.

This whole situation just makes me furious. This is the dangerous thing about the internet. Morons with a much higher opinion of their own intelligence than they should read a few articles and think their opinions are equal to that of medical professionals.

I'm anti vaccine with a Mercury preservative. That poo is dangerous.

But that is VERY rare anymore. Get your measles vac.

I've been accused of being anti vaccine because I don't believe in giving a newborn eight vaccines right after being born.

Both sides sound stupid. I have no idea why anyone would want to vaccinate their infant against things they have no reasonable threat.

But this is more about everyone thinks their kid is special. Herd immunity is fun and protects those that actually can't get certain vaccines.

what? no reasonable threat? These kids are under one and 2 for sure have measles. sounds like a threat to me.

I never said measles. For the first six months you're still using your mother's immune system. Then after that it should be one vaccine at a time, three months between vaccines, and never while the kid is sick. How hard is that?

Who puts a child of less than a years age in " kinder care" ?  Seriously - If you really want to have kids you should be willing to have one of the parents stay home and take care of them for a few years.  That seems like the sensible thing to do - not depend on everyone else vaccinating their kid sso you can dump yours off in the equivalent of an industrial feed lot for germs.

Well this is incredibly unrealistic.

It's called reality. Majority of families, even in middle class, rely on a two income household.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
