Fans have spoken time and time again, winning is ALL that matters. Why cant owners get this?!

As cold and cynical as it may sound, it just has to be said. Us NFL fans care about one thing and one thing only, WINNING! A look back at recent history shows that any blow to a organization's bottom line in terms of dollars due to one of the players off field issues.

Call me cold but the ONLY thing I care about is my team winning period! A look back at recent history shows that fans just do not care about the trouble star players get into.

Take the Ray Rice incident, while the media was calling for Ray Rice's head, Baltimore Ravens fans had a different opinion as sales of Ray Rice jerseys surged following the incident. Take Michael Vick, what he did was completely inhumane, while his image and jersey sales fell initially, he came back with a vengenance when he signed with the eagles and fans rallied behind him.

Ben Roethlisberger? Same story, Ray Lewis?! He just went on to be the beat MLB of his generation and the face of that franchise for years, his charge? Oh just an accomplice to murder. I think we can all agree as Panther fans that we would give anything to follow in the footsteps of a team like the Ravens and their sustained success.

Even our very own Greg Hardy, it was reported that a ton of people wearing Hardy's jersey to the following game following his suspension.

So my question is this. If fans dont care, business is still good, whats the big deal?! Lets not pretend to be alter boys here. This is the NFL for me. I ONLY care about one thing and one thing only, WIN WIN WIN at all costs except for cheating.

I love this team with a passion but im sorry, Jerry Richardson is a damn moron if Hardy is found not guilty and for not briniging him back. He is not cutthroat enough to be a good owner. He is just too wholesome

You ever own a business? You ever been accountable for 100's or 1000's of peoples' livelihoods depending on your decisions?

During his time here, Hardy has wrecked on a motorcycle, photo'd his speedometer at over 100 mph, and shared the company of alleged elicit drug users, while also attempting to have a rap career, which as we all know is a genre of music that promotes drugs, killing, and the degradation of women.

Now, if you're the man running a billion dollar business or a $5 business, do you keep a guy around who time and again has done things that could hurt your bottom line? No.

Regardless of how good Hardy is and could be, you don't pay him $50 to play here next season, let alone millions.

Mark my words, Hardy will get paid by someone else and his production will fall and his off the field activities will become more of a nuisance. Luckily, it won't be here.

We've a bunch of fans that never did anything wrong.....and having a player on their team that did something wrong, just gets under their skin. 

 

Even if the jury still has a decent chance of finding him not guilty.    Being accused of something can follow an individual around long after they've been proven innocent

You've left out the NFLPA and the CBA which have some bearing as well. And what happens when a spiteful employee or a disenfranchised business competitor decides to make an anonymous phone call accusing you of taking indecent liberties with junior employees or your neighbor's kid? You getting fired based on that accusation? After all, it is just an accusation, but it'll still make the papers and your life is ruined. 

 

 

 

This happens all to often in America and it's down right scarey.It doesn't matter if someone is innocent of the accused charges because once it goes public you are deemed guilty by a vast amount of people and your reputation is ruined, even if you are found not guilty.

I love how dramatic people are getting about watching their team lose games.

 

Let's see: Adrian Peterson's kid was beaten till he bled.  Ray Rice's wife was knocked out and dragged by the man who's supposed to protect her.  And of course there's the other victims of domestic violence, rape, etc. whose lives are changed forever, a lot of it with the whole world watching and even some people saying they deserved it, faked it, whatever.  And of course there's Rae Carruth's kid and the life he leads.

 

But hey, all of that's small potatoes.  I had to watch my team lose a game THAT I PAID TO SEE!!!

We'll see in a few days. IF this is about making a statement, why not put it in writing tomorrow? Why wait for the end of the trial? Why drag it out. If your going to let him go then SAY IT! Have some balls(something I've been questioning for years). If you want to make a moral stand without listening to both sides do it and tell us all, ALL including the other 31 teams and ESPN that will be snickering when you do it. Fortune 500 companies have programs the make available. Big mistake in my eyes. You don't abandon people who obviously need your guidance but is also one of your best producers.

What he's accused of is a misdemeanor and some people want me to believe he committed a more serious crime and sometimes people don't always tell the truth. If I didn't do anything wrong I'd take it to court. Thank God for that at least but your rep is forever tarnished.

I don't think Jersey sales provide an accurate assessment of how the majority of fans feel about a specific player or incident. The fans that buy a specific player's Jersey in those situations could easily be a minority who decide to buy the jersey as a show of support.  A outspoken minority perhaps, but still a minority.  I seriously doubt the majority of Ravens fans supported keeping Ray Rice, regardless of how many Jersey's he sold.   

 

If Hardy is found guilty, imo a majority of fans will agree that not re-signing him is the right thing.  If he is not found guilty, the matter among the fans will likely become more complex.

 

But I believe that Hardy is already gone, and the trial is only one of the reasons.
