I certainly see a fine coming but considering he was already suspended for 17 games I'm not sure he will be suspended again. He will most likely be docked 6 games pay from last year's salary. Roughly 5 million dollars if I had to guess.

He wasn't suspended though.  The commissioner's exempt list is not considered punishment... to the player at least.

If Goodell looks at all angles, which he will in my opinion.  He will realize that the girl just wanted to get paid, and I honestly don't think he will get suspended at all.  If he does, that will be arguably one of the dumbest decisions I have ever seen.  If we let him go, as a franchise we look like poo.  Hardy got fuged by a female judge in an election year.  That's what it comes down to.  LITERALLY and FIGURATIVELY.

He wasn't able to play in any games after week 1. Call it what you want but he was suspended. The PA will get on this.

It is the money that matters here, not the playing time. 

 

I suppose it could be possible for Hardy to avoid suspension by paying a hefty fine though. I don't think that has happened before, but it would make sense.

I'm not sure they'd have a leg to stand on, considering he made a small fortune for being "suspended."  If you call that punishment, please, sign me up.

did you read my OP? He's looking at a 5-6 million dollar fine. Plus he sat out 17 games last season. Please explain to me how that isn't punishment.

Dwyer in arizona is another, but his deal seems worse. No clue how the NFL will rule this, the rice deal totally changed the way in which these matters are handled. 16 games in the prime of ones career, AND more....... thats damage.

Zod, I've seen many here blame roger/NFL for putting greg on the list, but didn't the panthers ask the NFL to do this?

It was NOT a suspension....it is that simple.

 

Hardy was NOT punished by the Commissioners List.  Quite the contrary, it could very well be seen as a benefit to him.  Many players hate playing under the tag so much, that they actually hold out.  Hardy got the best of both worlds.  He was able to make a $13M payday AND not risk injury under the one year tag.

 

If he is suspended (making no judgement on this), there will be NOTHING the NFLPA or his PA will be able to do about it.

Under the new DV policy does the player lose their salary over a 6 game span for first offense? Or is it just 6 games suspended with pay and a small fine?

How can Hardy be responsible if he is innocent of all charges?

 

Charges being dismissed is not really the same thing as being innocent.

 

We all know what really happened here....he paid her and she went away.  We will never know how innocent he was in all of this....my personal belief is that the truth lies somewhere between their two stories.  Not as guilty as she portrayed him, but not as innocent as he was portraying.
