T.J. Clemmings OT Pitt

I think he could be a good player and one of the few guys that could play LT down the road.

I like La'El Collins better then Erick Flowers and Andrus Peat(who is also raw), but if those guys are gone Clemmings wouldn't be a bad pick.  We would need a different option at LT going into the season though.

I think I would rather have Ogbuehi, considering both wouldn't contribute much in their first season.

Very Raw but not quite to Moses level.  If we already had a Solid LT who had a few years left, id bite on grabbing him in the 1st ala Otah, to start him at RT to break him into the league.  We have a couple other position of needs.

We name a ton of WRs we want in FA, but WRs don't come cheap.  Gettleman won't jump and overpay a guy (see Nicks who everyone wanted last year, that Indy paid more and he did no more than our #2).  This years WR class is stacked much like last year  One of White, Parker, or Strong would be more beneficial for us than Raw Clemmings being thrown into protecting Cams blindside.

Do not want at #25. That'd be a reach imo and I don't see GMan doing that.

To me 1st round picks, especially in the Panthers case, should be starters, especially if you go OL and he still has a lot of development to do and I don't see him as a Day 1 starter.

Everyone here has repeated what the reports are, not much to add.

Mike mayock will/should change his ranking at any time. He's one of the best at ranking all these 1,500 or so players, which is near impossible.

Clemmings is raw, but I've also heard he has the highest ceiling out the Ts. He needs coaching and time...... that's the issue. He was getting beat near every time on inside moves during senior bowl. That can be fixed, along with his other problems. What's scary is he's a leaner jeff otah........ he must prove football is important to him and have a huge passion for being a professional NFLer. Otah got injuried and out of shape, took a look at the few million sitting in the bank...... he quit.

Dave has said, these rookies have to ready to play right now. I believe he was talking about rounds 1-3. But the panthers share a problem with clemmings, they pick 25. If the OL coaches believe they can get clemmings ready, then its a match.

The big kid from Auburn, Greg Robinson, last year did not start at LT, they moved him inside.  He will eventually get there and he was taken I think 2nd overall.

What coaches will do is ascertain his ability to learn.  He has little football background, but all the measureables.  IF we think he can be coached and use the God given abilities he has, then it is not a reach at 15, much less 25.  If he cannot be coached, then you pass

Idk, he had a lot of love around media and fans, and then the Senior Bowl week happened. He looked awful, but I don't think he would be a reach at 25 nor would I be opposed, neccesarily.

For me, I'd take him after Flowers and Peat. I believe Collins won't be an option, so I'm not even mentioning him.

He's super athletic, strong and a ton of potential. He's the kind of prospect that if he kills the combine, all of a sudden he's knocking on the door of the top-15 again.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
