If Hardy is not brought back for any other reason than the impact his contract would have on building the overall roster then it's b.s. That is the only reason not to. All the others, at this stage, is garbage.

Not really. It was reported and even discussed here that it was quesrionanle if Hardy is the type player you trust with a huge deal. So that thinking along with cap implications always existed (even before his legal issue).

they're a team that needs to get their poo together in the worst way on both lines. i'd fear them the most if hardy signed there because they'd be a lot better on defense almost automatically. it'd be similar to the kind of improvement we saw when kuechly took over the middle in 2012. the defense didn't become an elite unit overnight but we started making some of the plays that we weren't before.
