Negotiating period begins tomorrow

As of March 7th, teams can start negotiating with other team's free agents.

No contracts can actually be signed until 4pm on March 10th, but teams can legally "tamper" three days early.

(cause that never happened under the old system)

So expect the free agency news to start heating up tomorrow.

Man, you and Igo love raining on people's parades. Haha. we know Cobb was a pipe dream, but hope springs eternal

No joy in being a downer.  I just prefer to be realistic.

A lot of the same folks who get their hopes up will be the ones screaming that the season is already over two hours after free agency starts

This is one of the better rules the NFL has cranked out over the last few years.

Ensures that the teams who arent cheating get an opportunity to contact players before they can sign with the teams who were tampering.

Can't wait to hear the crying and whining from the Huddle about how much we're gonna suck and the "Fire Gettleman" blah blah when we don't sign a nationally known free agent to a big contract that burns up all our available cap space. All because that's the only way THEY know to fix a team.

If you're gonna be a Panther fan, you need to be smart about the process of drafting players, developing them, and using them to replace older players, because that's what we're going to do from now on. The days of big contracts going to free agents are OVER. Big contracts are now reserved for re-signing our own star players.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
