Now this report is generated daily but none of the contracts signed since Saturday probably go in to effect until the new NFL year starts so. How accurate this is, your guess is as good as mine. It does take into account any releases but like I said is only generated daily so if it happened during the day today probably wont get picked up until tomorrow.

Oh and the Saints hahahahahahahahhahahaah

So that site says we have 12.7 maybe "going in to" today based on the daily update. So today's signings are 1.7 bonus for Ginn and maybe 2 for salary. Plus the 4 Erfa guys at what 500k each. So that's another 2.

I guess that puts us at 7ish? Does that count the 5 or so we need for the draft?

Ugh I don't know why I started this thread.

I read somewhere that gettleman likes to keep 7 mil for the draft and injury replac3ment. If that's the case, then I wouldn't expect any more moves.

Wow, unless he's not planning to sign anyone this week at all, I can only imagine DG is planning to extend TD/Kalil or CJ. Either that or we've not understood the cap figure on the website.

The site I linked only get updated once a day and I think its first thing in the morning.  Just so everyone knows most, it not all, probably all, the contracts signed in the last few days will not become official before the first day of the new league year.  Which is tomorrow at 4pm.  So none of those cap hits, for Ginn or Fozzy's new deal or Michael Oher's deal, are on the book currently.  Greg Olsen's may be I don't know.  The best bet is just to look at it Wednesday morning and go from there.

I think that Ginn will likely count 1.76 million in 2015.  900,000 in salary and half the 1.7 signing bonus or 850,000 for a total of 1.75 million.

Oher's cap number at spotrac.com was 2.5 million but I think that is high. I think there is an exclusion for 2 vets on the team you can designate for some cap savings.  He might be one of them.

Spottrac estimated that including Oher and not including Ginn, Webb and Bersin, that we had roughly 10.5 million in cap space after counting the top 51 salaries and including what we will spend on our projected draft pool.  With just the top 51- it was estimated at roughly 15 million.

So without any other moves to restructure Davis, Johnson or anyone else we should have around 7 million to spend in free agency or maybe slightly more.

We have some restructures/extensions to free up some money on the way I think, so I wouldn't exactly count us out just yet. While I don't think we're done at receiver, I also don't think Gettleman feels pressured to make a move now so I think if the price and value match for DE, receiver, DB, or OT, we'll pull the trigger, if not, I think we'll draft bpa and and see what glaring holes we have after.

So that doesn't count the space needed for the draft and injury buffer or it does? And I agree, we have other restructures that can make room.

We should have close to 7 million after accounting for the draft.  It doesn't account for any injury players we might pick up later.  I expect us to extend Davis and Johnson saving even more.

Well only the top 51 + any dead money count as of tomorrow. Bersin, Folkerts, and Jacobs got ERFA tenders, all likely for the minimum. So those really have no bearing on the cap as all the guys at the bottom of the 51 make the minimum anyway.

Olsen's extension and the signings of Oher, Ginn, and Whittaker are obviously relevant, however. Olsen saved us a bit, with a new cap hit of $6.8m. Oher will cost $2.5m, and I haven't seen official numbers but based on contract structure the cap hits for Ginn and Fozzy should be about $1.85m and $610k, respectively.

So in total those 3 account for $4.96m and take the place of 3 $510k deals in the top 51. So their net impact is $3.43m. Add in our near-$5m rollover, about $1m adjustment, dead money, and DeAngelo still being on the books until June 1...

TL;DR: I've got us at $13,855,313. And our current rookie pool should be about $4.63m.

    • I see Bryce's development this way: He improved when his supporting cast improved.  TMac and Dowdle saved his arse last year, but in fairness, most good QBs have good WRs and good RBs--and good OLs.   The 2025 OL underperformed, actually. They were above average, but they should have been elite if you consider the salary cap.   As soon as we signed Lewis and Hunt, I started thinking, "That's not sustainable.  With Ickey about to get paid a LT salary, Moton and Hunt grabbling $50m per season combined, and Lewis around $17m--that would be nearly $100m and the Center just walked.  Yikes.  What does that mean?  Rico walks, Mays walks, and we do not have a top 5 WR on a second contract.  We do not have an elite TE, and only 1 is on a modest second contract. And now Bryce will demand $50m for his incremental rise to mediocrity?   So when we sign Bryce, we will get weaker at other positions.  Hunt, Moton, maybe Ickey and Lewis, will all be casualties--that is the right move regardless (not sure yet about Ickey, but he was not elite) Bryce is one lucky, entitled camper.  No competition since being drafted, and he lost his job for a while to the aging clipboard holder.  Now we are bringing in UDFAs and busts to compete with him.
    • Probably not.  If we are taking a QB, it would be a prospect to replace Bryce and not a flyer type player.  I can't say for sure, but I doubt he would have cracked the top 3-4 QBs even if he were to play this coming season.
    • The Giants, Cardinals  and Dolphins should have moved on, but they didn't and ended up cutting their QB early into a monster second contract and had to eat a TON of dead cap money.
