Someone Explain This Poo To Me

Exactly. I don't understand what some of these people expect from the Saints. We were irrelevant for 43 fuging years. Are they supposed to just say we don't have the money to field a competitive team around our HOF QB?

I'd be pissed if we weren't going all in. The Panthers and Saints are just at two different stages for the franchise right now.

This is all I'm trying to point out to panther fans who are pissy over gettlelman not making similar moves.

The panthers and saints are at different parts of the arc, window, whatever right now. Way different parts.

Very much so. Panthers have to look towards the future. This is the future for the Saints. Its an all in time.

Saints turn Juinor Galettes $12.5 million into signing bonus. How the hell is that allowed. And the biggest question, why the hell didn't Dave do this with Deangelo and or Stewart and take carolina out of cap hell earlier.

The only players to restructure this year are Jimmy Graham, Jairus Byrd, and Junior Galette. Not old players.

Just for full disclosure about the Saints cap moves, RB Pierre Thomas and LB Curtis Lofton were cut in order to get the Saints under the cap.

WR Marquis Colston and DT Brodrick Bunkley took pay cuts to their 2015 salaries in what was likely a case of "you either take a pay cut or we have to release you".

Reports are Breesus and Keenan Lewis are unwilling to re-structure their contracts to help make cap room, and so far it's proven true as they haven't.

I don't see a report about Jimmy Graham re-structuring his contract, but they just may not know the details of that transaction yet, since Marques Colston's numbers are not mentioned, either.

Also, the Saints are currently anywhere between 500k above the cap to $2.4 million below the cap, depending on the numbers you believe for the Colston transaction and the possible Graham transaction. They still need to make more room to sign their draft picks and have some cushion to sign players during the season.

Bottom line: the Saints will NOT be major players in free agency barring more releases and re-structures

Yes, Colston and Bunkley took pay cuts. Grubbs and/or Evans still may. Is this a problem?

We've discussed already that Drew isn't a candidate for a restructure, but that obviously doesn't fit your narrative, so you keep saying he's turning it down. Haven't heard a thing about a Lewis restructure and dont even think he would save us much money. Again, you're reaching.

Jimmy is restructuring.

Did I say we would be major players in FA? Lol.

Just reporting what I hear from Saints sources that posters list on the Saints fan board to give a clearer picture of the Saints cap situation. Talk to them if you don't like the narrative about Breesus and Keenan because that's where I see it.

You were right when you said earlier our teams are on different cap arcs. Saints had to make a painful cut with PT and will affect the screen game you ran. Meanwhile at this point, the Panthers are the only NFC South team to bring in outside free agents so far. No illusions that the other 3 won't bring in anyone, but have to wonder with so much cap space why the Bucs and Falcons can't seem to close the deal with anyone. Saints just have no $$$ for free agents right now.

Did I say you were wrong about being FA players? No, I didn't. Simply stated that the Saints would NOT be major players until more cap moves are done, which is certainly the case, since at the moment the Saints don't even have enough cap space to sign their draft class, much less bring in notable free agents.

Wow every Saint is available for trade except Breesus. Including Jimmy Graham was just reported on NFL Network. Sounds like Payton is serious about re-vamping the team.

Or maybe they realize what a mess they have on their hands with the cap, older players, and the holes on their roster.

FIRESALE in the swamp!
