Saints attempting to trade WR Kenny Stills

Stills was like a 5th round pick whose numbers have been inflated by Brees. We're also in a league where Brandon Marshall went for a 5th and the Texans couldn't find a taker for Andre Johnson.

He's younger on a miniscule contract, so it's not cap related, but still. No higher than a 6th, but they'll never trade him here anyway.

I fail to understand ur logic? A 6th??? Those picks rarely pan out and if so it takes a few years to develop.

So u wouldn't give that up for a player who is very young and has proven he can compete?

Maybe, but I gotta admit I'm a lot less enthusiastic about trading picks now that we have a guy in charge who knows how to use them.

Agreed. It all depends on what they would be willing to take. If Getts agrees to it, I say pull the trigger! He is a great team builder. I can actually say I trust his judgement.

It's market value, pro bowlers are being traded for 5th rounders or being cut altogether and this guy isn't on that level. Stills has speed we could use, but he was a late pick himself, no reason we couldn't find a similar talent late as well. Plus I think Brees makes him, I don't think he's all that special but that's just my opinion.

Plus do you really wanna give the Saints another decent pick? This is all moot anyway since there's no way they'd trade him here.

Normally I agree with you on this.  But, Stills has shown he can deliver in an NFL game and has a lot of upside.  If he coudl be had for a mid round pick, I would pull the trigger.  Basically the same as drafting a guy in the mid rounds....except that Stills is less of a ? because you KNOW what he can do.

And....he is stil on a cheap rookie contract.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
