The Panthers have literally not signed a big-time free agent since 1998

Hurney managed three winning seasons out of eleven years in charge and put us in a cap hell that we're still trying to fix.

He was not a good GM.

He was a good scout, or well, maybe Carolina's scouting department is pretty good at least in the first round.

Lol he wasn't one of the worst. 2 championship game appearances, 1 SB appearance. Put together great defenses and offensive lines. Picked up good free agents. Dumpster dived like Gettleman and found Jake Delhomme. Those mid 2000's Panther teams could have been special if not for injuries to key players. He only had one truly awful year.

4 winning seasons out of 11....turble..Barkley says hai.

It's been 10 years since Hurney's best team time to move on man..by your logic the Saints should still brag about their actual SB WIN...

Brentson Bucker (2001) - Came off a 7-sack season with San Francisco. Big-name signing.

Stephen Davis (2003) - Two years off of leading the league in rushes, and four off of leading in touchdowns, and was on pace for 1,100 the year before signing.

Mike Wahle (2005) - Longtime Green Bay starter. Big signing.

Ken Lucas (2005) - Came off of a six-interception season. Big signing.

Keyshawn Johnson (2006) - Not a big player, but a big name possession receiver.

Justin Hartwig (2006) - Big-name center from a big team (Pittsburgh).

That's six off the top of my head. We probably had a few more.

Forgot a few: Chuck Smith and Reggie White in 2000.

His winning percentage was one of the best in the league over the period.. and it would have easily been six playoff seasons (add in 2004 and 2007) if it weren't for injuries. Heck, we maybe could have made the playoffs in 2006 too.

If you think the mid-2000s Panthers were below average you did not watch the Panthers during those years.

I consider an awful year as a losing season............without a playoff appearance.
