The Great Pie Debate - Offseason 2015 Edition

A question popped into my head today, a pie question that has never been asked on the huddle before.

 

 

I wondered to myself....

 

If the overall deliciousness of a pie is 100% ... what percentage is credited to the crust?

 

 

In short, how important is a pie crust to you in overall pie appeal?

That depends on how you like your crust to pie ratio. I prefer for the crust to be the dominant taste. But that's kind of like asking are you an ass or tits man, can't go wrong either way.

The crust makes up a critical piece in the overall satisfaction of the pie, IMO.

Without the crust, some pies would be nothing more than pudding. Nobody likes pudding.

crust is very important, maybe 30-35%.  And don't give me that graham cracker crust bullsh*t.

I would say 30%.

I would have to go 30% for the overall quality of a pie. A thin crust just ruins a pie.

False, its just the delivery system of the goodness it holds within.  Nobody says its a "crust pie" its a fuging apple pie.  Blueberry pie.  Pecan pie.  

 

 

 

However, since it is involved in the process, it can't have a 0% contribution.  I'd put it at 13.5%.

If it's a soggy crust I won't eat it.
