The league had been debating between either a 2nd or a 3rd rounder as punishment for noisegate. They've now decided on taking the Falcons second rounder (42nd overall), expect an official decision to be announced soon.

No. This happened at least once before with the Patriots. The pick is forfeited and there will only be 31 picks in round 2

Their pick vanishes like a fart in the wind. There will be only 31 picks in whatever round they lose theirs from. Think back to the Taints Bountygate and what happened to their 2nd rounder.

 

I love it. Winning the division to make the playoffs isn't just about what we do to get better. It's also about the other 3 shooting themselves in the foot with poor drafting, bad cap management, not being able to attract free agents, and keeping players a year too late.
