Greg Jennings Thinking About Breaking Signing On Social Media

Greg Jennings would likely be the best free agent signing since that other Greg...as well as being, without a doubt, instantly the second best wide receiver that we have. That being said...

...I will be up...unless i fall asleep. That should tell you how I am looking at the whole situation.

Although JJ says Jenning's account is a fake, it is still verified by Twitter. If the account is actually real he tweeted this asking his followers if any athlete broke the news of where he is signing via social media:

@GregJennings: Has there ever been a professional athlete break the news of where he's signing via social media?

LeBron did it with a hour long special. .

So Jennings is late to the party on this..

Keenan Allen

Stevie Johnson

Greg Jennings

Jacoby Jones

Pretty nice group

plus:

-Malcom Floyd, who caught for 856 yds last year

-young, cheap Dontrelle Inman, who averaged 80 rec yds per game over the Chargers' last 2 games (and they were in playoff contention to the final whistle of the last game), and who ESPN Chargers reporter Eric Williams confirms is a good bet to make their 53 again next year

like a Chargers fan wrote today about the possibility of signing Jennings: "I guess we could carry 6 receivers"

As far as i can tell, there seems very little buzz that the Chargers are in it for Jennings. I'm thinking he took his family to San Diego just on vacation

He said family was most important and from all we have ever heard from our own players is what a family environment we have here... If that is the biggest priority it is us. If it's money, he will sign elsewhere.

Although I don't appreciate Rivera's comments about not needing Jennings now that we have signed all-fuging-world Boykin, I wonder if it was a power play to see if Jennings would respond. Doesn't seem wise to me though.

    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
    • He had the award until like the last 8 games. He sucked ass and flagg had 3 40 point games
