Who is your round 3 starter?

Jeremy Igo

Jaquiski Tartt, S, Samford

I like the call.

Jaquiski Tartt, S, Samford

Height: 6-1. Weight: 221.

40 Time: 4.53.

Projected Round (2015): 2-4.

3/14/15: Tartt created some draft buzz with an impressive skill set on display for Samford. He totaled 62 tackles with one pass broken up and one interception this season. Tartt was solid against Auburn.

The senior has good size, plus the speed to cover a lot of ground. Tartt could start out as a strong safety early in his NFL career and eventually develop into a versatile defender who can play free safety as well. He held his own at the Senior Bowl and proved he could handle himself against the increased level of competition. At the Combine, Tartt had a solid performance with a quality 40.

Tartt had nine passes broken up, one interception, and 98 tackles in 2013.

R3 maybe early but Davis Tull would be a very good choice.

I'm pretty sure he's a 3-4 pass rushing OLB so I don't think he fits for us but he is one hell of an interesting prospect with his athletic profile. It's arguably better than Beasley's. I'd be all over him if we ran a 3-4.

I know the measurables show for a 3-4 but think he could be an interesting SAM down the road.  Think he's quick and instinctive enough at his size.

Fair enough. I've never seen him play outside a highlight or two so I'll defer to you on that. I definitely am not opposed to a day 3 flyer on guy that athletic regardless of scheme.

If he is available in the late 3rd round I will be thrilled with the pick. I believe if you want him you will have to take him in the late 2nd if some other team did not take him earlier in the 2nd. I see him taken anywhere from mid 2nd to early 3rd round.

Outside of Landon Collins the only other safeties I like are Tartt and Sendish (late 5th to 6th round) for SS. They are quick to diagnose a play, take excellent angles, show decent coverage skills, and are hitters.

I have yet to see a SS in this draft who has better timing on his hits and makes everyone he hits get up off the ground feeling the hurt time and time again. His first step when diagnosing a play is unmatched too. He gets knocked for being a smaller SS who jumped schools every year, but some of the best hitting SS in the NFL were small.

As for James Sample, he throws his body at people and gets run over or bent back too much for my liking. Reminds me of Charles Godfrey getting trucked while making his tackles. His Virginia game was enough for me to say no.

I just don't think Hardy will get picked that high.  Nor will he start for this team.

You're probably right.  Why would the NCAA All-Time career receptions record holder have a prayer of starting for a team with arguably the weakest WR corps in the NFL?  LoL  Do you even hear yourself?

I guess nobody really knows how early he'll get drafted until the draft, but he's consistently being mock drafted in the 2nd & 3rd round.
