Apparently 40 times are usually slower on grass versus artificial turf by .13. This is on the field speed. More impressive was his Long shuttle time of 10.90 which was better than anyone at the combine. He is my new 6th or 7 th round pick. If Ricky can teach him how to be a wide receiver we have a very cheap option to be our Darren Sproles. If he even contributes he is worth a 6th or 7th. He wouldn't be the first track guy who starred in the NFL After all with 9 picks in the draft and 3 fifth rounders, anyone we pick in the 6 th or 7 th is a long shot to make anything but the practice squad.

He had a pretty lackluster college career. Doubt he even makes it as an UDFA

As a big time Gamecock fan I support all of our players.  Byrd is fast....but he's soft and can't hang on through a hit.  He's a threat when he can catch the ball in space.  Though he's fast I haven't seen him put to many great moves on anyone.  Essentially he's a less polished Ted Ginn.  Pharoah Cooper on the other hand........will easily become a top ten pick.

so you have any idea about how many receivers we already have on the roster? seriously. the league and college is littered with small fast guys. we need physical guys that can get open and dominate the defense that's guarding them.

can we not just sit back and trust in the staff to get production out of the guys we've been grooming to play in our offense? The only receiver I want to hear about is another ball swallowing monster to pair with Benjamin and Olsen who is next to impossible to cover because they are so physically imposing. This guy should be the one to replace Cotchery.

We have Ginn, Brown and Hill and the best of these should be our guy to stretch the field and until our line is able to block long enough for a speedy route eunnwr to get 30 yards down the field before Cam gets sacked, we should forget about these guys who take 5 or 6 seconds to shake their defender and come up with long bombs.

We are a conservative possession-laden offense. it's what we are. we run 4 receiver sets...occasionally. We use an Hback and sometimes even put our top-5 TE in the backfield to block. Cam has weapons, we just can't use them because of all the injuries that have plagued us.

we need a dominant, big bodied receiver who can out physical anyone who covers him, I don't care to see anymore nonsensical 40-yard passes wasted on 2nd and 7 that forces us into a pass play where the defenders are bringing the house because they know we are in a passing situation.

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
