Draft Man-curshes ....

WOW!!

Recommended Posts

Who are your draft man-crushes?? Any position in the draft who are your favorite players that you hope the panthers can draft?? Also be realistic about the player... I love Amari Cooper but there is no way we're getting him..

I have 2 realistic Man-crushes..

Nelson Agholor WR = I would love him in the 2nd but he won't make it to our pick.. So if we get him it will be in the 1st round...

great route runner...great speed and quickness... can play inside or outside .. good hands...also a returner

look at the speed and the elusiveness in small spaces...

Tre Mcbride WR = At first I thought he would be a 4th round pick... But now if we want him we would have to get him in the 2nd he won't make it to our late 3rd round pick...

Dude Hands are like glue he catches anything close to him.. He can high point a ball like Devante Parker.... Good route runner good size good speed... IMO he is going to be a star and a steal because there are so many WR in this draft and nobody is talking about him... But 18 teams were at his Pro day which tells me the media might not talk about him but teams are..

Look at the hands and catch radius... no balls get to his body... He snatches everything that comes near him... He reminds me of Antonie Brown...

I'll give a high pick and a later round pick for each position.

WR:  Jaelen Strong, Stefon Diggs

OT:  Jake Fisher, Tyrus Thompson

RB:  Tevin Coleman (okay, really Todd Gurley but trying to avoid the obvious), Cameron Artis-Payne

CB:  Kevin Johnson, Justin Coleman

OLB:  Shaq Thompson, Kwan Alexander, and Jake Ryan

DE:  Preston Smith, Ray Drew

But really, my primary draft crushes are Jaelen Strong and Preston Smith.

I've got some random ones this year:

-Devante Parker - Louisville - WR - (long shot for us but damn would he be good with KB and Olsen)

-Jay Ajaye RB Boise State

-Xavier Cooper - Washington State - DT - 6'3 293 (versatile multi-tech DL that would fit great in our rotation)

-Most of the mid-round RBs

-Quinten Rollins - Miami OH - CB (love his upside, high ceiling)

-Davis Tull - Tenn-Chat - OLB (this kid is gonna be good...I think he can fit a 4-3)

-Preston Smith DE

He won't make it to our pick in the 3rd round..

And if you can't see the talent this kid has.. I don't know wtf to tell you..

Ceiling is a slot receiver

Not a twitchy athlete and lacks explosive start/stop traits. Speed is good-enough, but not a track star and won?t run away from most defenders at the next level ? not a consistent vertical threat. Doesn?t have the suddenness to routinely create separation and needs to improve the tempo in his stem to better stick his cuts. Uses his body well, but lacks ideal power at the position to routinely win contested 50/50 balls. Needs to improve his technique, effort and competitiveness as a blocker. Minor durability concerns, missing some playing time early in 2014 with an ankle injury. Lacks ideal experience against top competition playing at the FCS level.

Dane Burgler is a f'n idiot. . He might be the worst Draft prospects analyst out there. . You would be wise not to follow his dumbass opinions..

I can see with my own eyes. . The kid next to Cooper and Agholor is the best route runner. . And he catches everything in his area with his hands not his body.. And his quick twitch ability must not be to bad with him being a returner and his almost 5,000 all purpose yards..

That was just a reference I can make my own opinions. McBride sucks and you'll see it once he gets to the NFL.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
