Will Mariota have rookie success like Cam

Was listening to the talking heads on NFL AM this morning talk about Mariota and how the criticism against him was unwarranted. Then the subject of Cam came up since I guess there are some similarities and the guys started talking about how Mariota could have the same success Cam had. What do you guys think?

Marriota's success will heavily depend on the team and scheme that he gets drafted into.

The guy does not have a strong arm.

Put him in Philly and he will light it up. Put him in a more vertical offense and he will be mediocre.

I agree. I don't know anything about his arm but his rookie success will largely be a product of his team on offense. He may or may not win but his numbers will depend on the team...WRs, Oline, running game, scheme.

I think people forget that what make's Cam special is not just his ability to get out of the pocket. Cam's combination of speed, size, and strength made him a TERROR his first couple of years. He can elude the pass rush and then run your DB over.

 

Great threat at the goal line QB ever. Now if we can just get Shula to stop the dumb play calling...

      I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
