Latest mock from Will Brinson (multiple trades)

It has indeed been talked about a lot.

The big question would be whether they retain pick 17 in the process.

I don't see any way they would. San Diego doesn't have a whole lot of leverage in trade negotiations considering Rivers could end up a FA in a year anyways, and I saw a report that Rivers and #17 for #2 would just be a "starting point." This is really a crazy draft because of Mariota. There are half a dozen teams that could be interested in trading up for him. I think what ends up happening with him will affect us a lot.

I've seen it suggested that it's possible (to trade yet keep the #17) but have to admit I have a hard time seeing it happen.

Yes, hate it if we picked up Humphries.  For one, he's not ready to start.  Two, people keep talking about his battle with Shane Ray and how well he performed against him.  I saw him give up 2 or 3 sacks to Ray, so I don't know what people are talking about.

If all of our top guys that we would have chose are gone at 25, I say trade down.

I'd be livid if I were a Titans fan and we traded down from #2 and all we got was Shane Ray and Malcom Brown...

...and Phillip Rivers?

I could also see us trading up with Pitt if Gurley is still on the board to take him ahead of Zona. Wonder how the board would react to that one.

Exactly what I was about to say, plus Carolina and Pitt have a good relationship so hopefully they wouldnt' try to screw us to only move up 3 spots.

Our 4th would be enough to move up to 22nd. Our 5th if they are feeling really generous.

I feel like Humpheries is just like Moses in last years draft (Not talent wise). Everyone has us taking him but I just can't imagine him being our pick since there is no way he is the best player available at pick 25

i feel the exact same way . samething goes for tj clemmings as well

I think 90% of mocks now have us taking Humphries. Not sold.

I believe his style of play is compared to other tackles that were drafted in the first round that have yet to prove themselves in the NFL.

With all of the depth at WR, RB and CB I would love for us to trade down and acquire more picks.

Posits a scenario where the Eagles trade up twice to snag Mariota and the rest of the first goes a little trade happy.

Has the Panthers taking D J Humphries with Jaelen Strong still on the board (Ravens take him at 26).

Seems a tad farfetched to me but judge for yourselves (link)

Humphries over Strong real possibility.

    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
