Shaq Thompson?

Isn't he a little light for LB in the NFL?

This guy hits like Tyson. He's like "the Thing," skin of rock yet somehow moves like hes a solid body of water. He's a ballhawk playmaker. 1st team All-American and ranked #3 overall prospect coming out of high school.

There should be no questioning this guy, Im serious. He's lived up to every standard and billing thats ever been placed on him...and hes coachable.

He loves to hit and be physical, says he want to fly around the field hitting and making plays on the ball, thats why he declined being billed as a running back.

Closing speed is quick-twitch accurate and powerful. Zero body fat and zero injury history.

I disagree, I think that's a terrible move. It would require mortgaging our future just like Hurn-dog used to. We would most likely end up without a round 1 next year.

No, trade our 2nd and 4th and probably 5th or 6th not a first rounder the next year. Gettlemen is not Hurney.

I do not want. The guy has no instincts and doesn't have a true position. He is not thomas Davis and picking a defensive player in the 1st would be a slap in the face to cam newton. Can we please help our franchise qb and stop thinking our defensive will win us all our games.

Shaqs tape is pretty meh. He's got those nice long fumble returns, but other than that he hardly makes any plays. Everyone loves his athleticism and the potential ways he could be used, but he rarely does anything that makes me think,"I want that guy on my team."

He's awesome in theory.

I know this is gonna raise some eyebrows and hit a few people the wrong way...well, first off, 4 tds off of turnovers is making plays. so that statement is less than accurate to say the least.

Secondly, how many "plays" does our defensive players make? Luke had how many ints and ff? Davis? Harper? i mean...come on man. sometimes, just making the stop before a guy can get extra yards is good enough. Do you have any idea how many big rushes went against us last season because of missed assignments, poorly judged angles of attack and just flat out missed tackles? Guy...we got abused in the run game until we got our full defense finally working together, and even then, every team knew to go WLB and towards Romans side of the field.

Shaq fixes that. He moves while scanning, while keeping his hips square to the ball and interprets the play as it progresses, whether pass or rush, follows the ball as it pertains to his defensive assignment and makes the stop. show me ine missed tackle or a play where he gets drug...you wint find many.

Luke won DPOY making stops and keeping himself in position to stop plays...making the big play like turnover was just the byproduct of him being in the right position.

thats what we missed in the will side and thats what Shaq excels at. So instead of just a String sude unit lead by TD and ILB unit led by Luke, adding Shaq gives us a Third and full Weak side unit that can play tight lose or zone. got it?

Not to mention, hes basically a TD clone with the coverage ability of Kam Chancellor.

youd draft TD first round. youd draft Luke first round and we should ansolutely draft Shaq first round.

At 25 I wouldn't be "mad" but I wouldn't be thrilled about the pick. If we moved up in the 2nd, using say our 4th and 5th to get him...that I could get behind.

Its kinda risky and if it worked holy shamoly man, Id be thrilled, cause that would mean we got two guys high on our board. We have way too many picks not to try and move around a little bit.

Theyd have to get that trade done early in the process, cause i dont think Shaq makes it past 40-45. We can get a Wr, RB and ST and DB on days 2-3 and we gave plenty of picks to use on that. OL is actually deep with run of the mill guys throughout so if a Peat, Collins, Gurley or a DE/DT the FO has their eyes on is still there at 25, I can maybe see them higher on the board. If not, we go Shaq.

By plays I meant he's not the first guy to the ball carrier making stops enough for me. I acknowledge the returns but I feel like those were right place, right time situations rather than something he created. Credit to him for capitalizing on the opportunities, but didn't he only force one of them? I could very well be wrong and I haven't watched his tape in a while but he just isn't impactful enough to spend a 1st rounder on for me.

No matter where the play is Luke is there, TD is there. I just don't see that with Shaq.

Also Kam Chancellor kind of sucks in coverage. That's all Earl Thomas whose coverage ability allows Kam to just be the menace that he is all over the field.
