The Eagles fans are coming to town

Large numbers of opposing fans invading the stadium doesn't bother me. It happens literally everywhere in the NFL. The NFL is unique in that regard. Even the Cowboys who are "America's Team" and play secluded from everyone else way down in Texas are invaded. Look up YT videos of Redskin vs Cowboy games, the stadium looks red.

The problem I have is the team getting bitch slapped on their home field & giving those fans something to cheer and gloat about.

Steelers game was a prime example. Yeah, there were probably 30,000 of them in our stadium. And the Steelers beat the fug out of us causing them to go crazy and pretty much take over our stadium.

If the score would've been reversed it wouldn't have mattered how many of those God awful yellow rags were there. They would've either been heading to the exits or slumped over in their seats by halftime.

But it's slowly changing. They are working hard to change the culture. And it started when they drafted Cam. He brought that attitude to this team. From day 1 he talked about it, changing the culture and having a dominant home field advantage. Locker room culture, guys either expecting to win or being gone. He doesn't accept losing and he openly blasted the team for it when he was here as a rookie. He took heat from the media, but he was right. He let everybody know he plays to win, this is his team, and that poo isn't gonna fly around here anymore.

Now look at how other guys talk following Cam's, especially Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis. They constantly harp on never losing at home. Protecting their house. CJ was ranting about it on IG 2 days ago. It's a culture and attitude thing. And it's changing here because of Cam.

What happened 10 years ago doesn't matter. Hell, what happened 3 years ago doesn't matter. When Cam got here this team was losers. It was accepted. It was the norm. That was the culture. We want to win, but we don't really expect to. We're used to losing. It's whatever. They didn't know any better.

Not anymore. Cam came in and said fug that. For all his faults and growing pains, that has always been one of Cam's biggest qualities. He's a leader and winner. He does not accept defeat. He does not want to win or be great. He demands it and expects it, out of himself and everyone on his team. Nobody really talks about it, but he is slowly changing the culture.

17 players are 1-2 year players, another 15 are 3 year guys. All these guys know as Panthers is winning. Every year, they go to the playoffs. It isn't what they want to do, it's what they expect to do. They don't have the mindset that most the team had in 2011 where every year is missing the playoffs. They don't know that defeat. They only know Cam Newton and winning the division.

It's all about the culture.

And once we consistently win at home, like in 2013, these fan invasions will become irrelevant. They will still keep coming, but the party ends on Saturday night at the Shítty epicenter. Because on Sunday they watch their team get bitch slapped and get heckled by Panther fans.

Great post. That's why he's the MJ of football. And it's not a stretch that the Panthers pre-Cam were the Bulls pre-MJ.
