La'El Collins may be in play after all

Gettleman may not necessarily be able to call him right now (don't really know).

Trai Turner can call him a hundred times if he wants to (or text, or whatever).

Thing to remember though?  Old LSU teammates now with other NFL teams can do this too.

Yeah but as OL yourself doesn't commemorative  of the Trai and Collins should be stronger than other teammates.

I'm betting he signs with the Panthers and this draft goes from B to A+ (football gods will return the favor for what happened with Hardy situation)

I'm not a legal expert but I do watch a lot of Investigation Discovery and whenever a lady is killed, literally every male that has ever known her in her entire life becomes a person of interest. Him being asked to come in "for questioning" means absolutely nothing and I'd hope Gettleman is throwing all the chips in to bring him here

Can't we work out some cheap workaround with him where we give him the maximum contract for a UDFA on a 1 year deal with the understanding that we'll compensate him for the money lost after it expires?

The fact him a Trai talk everyday and money doesn't factor with the UDFA cap he could end up here. If JR has any issues even if cleared I doubt it. He seems hell bent on avoiding any slight problems. JR I think is a big reason hardy got shown the door even with players vouching for him

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
