La'El Collins may be in play after all

What destinations and why?

Do you really want to argue Charlotte is a more enticing market to play in than Miami, San Diego, San Francisco, New York, Houston, and New Orleans? New Orleans and Dallas would be the local teams for him. Although Dallas may not have early playing time for him.

Yes it is. It's cheaper with a higher quality of life. Among others, Mike Tolbert left San Diego for that reason and I personally talked to Ed Dickson of Inglewood, CA and the University of Oregon, not to mention a world champ in Baltimore, that chose us over Miami with zero ties here whatsoever, having to play with a Pro-Bowl TE.

From a football perspective, there is no team in football with a brighter foreseeable future and golden opportunity to play than right here. Those cities haven't won titles in eons or ever, and darn sure aren't again before we do. Why would he want to compete with the #13 overall pick in NO on a team going backward when he could play here immediately on a better team with his best friend to boot?

Yeah those are great arguments for a veteran with a family. This guys is probably 22 years old looking to max earnings and max appearance fees to recoup the money he lost in this ordeal. When Moose went to Chicago he said his appearance fees tripled. We are talking 35 grand to show up at a car dealership. San Diego might look mediocre now but his agent would love to have him in LA in a few years. As far as "winning" is concerned. 21 year olds need to earn max money before they worry about winning. By the time he gets to a second contract our roster and every other roster will have turned over and who knows what teams will be winning.

I think we have a shot because we can offer him playing time. But this is not a max earnings city for him until his second contract.

But all of this is moot if any doubt lingers because other franchises will take a chance before we will. The details of the case that are available to the public do not rule out his involvement and in fact make it look very possible he was involved.

He is going to be signed to a three year "prove it" deal. The only way he can get the big contract he wants is to prove it, by starting. He has a significantly lower chance of starting in NO or DAL than he does here. Those two destinations are probably not high on his list at all.
