PFF Ranks Top 10 Defensive UDFAs

Pro Football-Focus does not do a ton of college player grading, so take this for what its worth.  They note that our UDFA Peters was their highest rated CB in the draft:

Garry Peters, CB, Clemson, Carolina Panthers

While White and Hill impressed, it was Peters who finished the season as our highest-graded cornerback. Allowing a mere 233 yards in coverage all season, allowing a mere 0.62 Yards Per Coverage snap in 2014. He needs to work on not being as grabby with contact, something he’ll be flagged for much more in the NFL, but Peters is a rough diamond who could develop really well in Carolina if given time.

You can check out his gameplay videos here:

Shoutout to Cyberjag for posting this in another thread.

4.6 40 so he doesn't have good deep speed. His three cone and short shuttle are elite though so he has extremely good change of direction and short area quickness. Never watched him play much but based on his numbers I'd say he fits best in a cover 2.

Norman has 4.66 speed. In fact his combine and proday numbers were fairly average to awful. Drill numbers aren't everything.

Clemson fan explain to me again why he went undrafted if he's this good?

Him and the other 20% of league starters. I think his lack of speed downgraded him, and even though he was All-ACC, he wasn't a starter until last season. I think he's got a lot to learn.

Has a good shot. White and Byndom are the #4 & #5 CBs, both are also undrafted. Plus only Bene is under contract beyond this season in the starting trio.

Dang that's true, Gettleman has been talking about not having a revolving door in the secondary though so I'm thinking Norman is re-signed...but he might be too expensive if he has a big year.

    • Absolutely … watching from Colorado, man oh man it makes my heart warm knowing how much our Panthers are loved and supported back home these days. This season was a massive step in the right direction after everything since Tepper took over.   But say all you want about Tepper, but let’s be honest , he has turned a corner and has truly embraced the Panthers history and culture more so recently , and we saw it on full display in Charlotte Saturday. I’m truly so damn proud of our Panthers …. Time to buy that DB #95 jersey… love this team and our fans so damn much. Been a fan since Day 1 when I was a kid in Charlotte and to see how far we’ve come and to have faith in where we’re going in the future truly brings a smile to my face.   In a world currently full of despair and pessimism, thank you to the 2025 Carolina Panthers for giving us hope once again. Time to let Dan Morgan cook… KEEP POUNDING 🖤💙🖤💙🖤💙
    • It's been one hell of a ride this season. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed football for an entire season. There are still a lot of things that frustrate me about this team, but they somehow made it work and put together something pretty impressive. I'm still worried about us being stuck in mediocrity, but hell, that's a lot better than where we've been.    Also, hats off to the fans! What an impressive showing last night. That was the most wild it's been since the 2015 NFC Championship. The place was absolutely rocking! The fans showed up! This is one of the things that has been missing for so long. Despite the loss, I had a blast last night.
