a player I really like is Brian Blechen from Utah.  He has all the tools for a special teams ace.  I see him as a backup to Thompson and the possible "heir apparent"  to one of the OLB spots in 2-3 years.  He is raw, developing, and learning the position, and the LB competition is fierce, but I see him finding a spot on the PS in the worst case scenario. 

I love Marlowe too, by the way.  I would not be surprised to see him on the roster.

  Byrd has a decent chance due to his skill set and his last name begins with "B" something that seems to be a requirement, with the exception of Funchess.  All your WRs can't be tall and lanky (Benjamin, Funchess, Bersin).  Brown and Byrd could be awesome in the slot.

Notice I did not mention Ginn.  I am not sure he sees much time as a WR.  Where/when do you play him?   I think there are 3 right now better (Benji, Fuch, Brown).  With Bersin and Brown coming on strong, do you block their development by giving snaps to a 30-year old poor man's Devin Hester?

Im honestly excited to see Glanton step up, he looked fast....REALLY fast in games last year.  Interested to see him learn a bit more and contribute.

Our LB corps is now the best in the NFL.  I mentioned earlier, watch Blechen from Utah.  Backup LBs had better be special teams studs, and the 3 late additions (Blechen, Glanton, and Mayo) look to be special teams terrors.  I think Klein makes the roster, but I wonder where he will play. 

Funny, but the LBs selected in the draft probably drew the most criticism.  Let's not forget how everyone sighed (I didn't--my claim to fame) when we drafted Luke.  He was not a real need at the time, but there were signs Beason was beaten up.  Then AJ Klein, then Thompson, then Mayo.  We find Glanton in the dumpster.  Aside from Davis, our entire LB corps has been overhauled since Ron arrived.

What about the DB from Clemson? Think he can beat out White or Houston for one of the last roster spots at CB?

He reminds me of white.  (peters)  He has a shot.  Fits the Panther CB profile.  I think, for this defensive secondary to be good, we need to play Bene inside.  Of course, expect some wrinkles with Thompson in the mix at LB.

Would love to see all 3 of these guys make the roster. I am especially intrigued by what having a TRUE fullback in place could do for this offense. We already have the ability to run out of the zone-read and this would only give defenses another formation to plan for. I would love to see Stew behind a fullback and having to make only one read and get up field.

Are you thinking Ginn shouldn't make the team at all?  Or just not play as a WR?  I'm assuming Ginn basically makes the team as a specialist for returns, and that he gives us the chance now and again to throw different WR schemes at a defense.  But unless someone else is an OBVIOUSLY gifted (and experienced!) punt returner, we NEED Ginn on the team.  Our ST cost us games last year.   So this is why I'm pretty convinced we keep 6 WRs on the team.  Benji, Funchess, Brown, Ginn, and probably Bersin & Cotchery.  If Byrd can crack the roster, that would be exciting, but I'm thinking he'll be on the PS.

No, I am certain Ginn makes the team, if only as a returner.  I am not as high on Byrd as Igo is, but I think Byrd is a project to put on the PS.  Ginn will not be in the rotation as much as he was last time he was here.

      Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.

      Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.

      Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
