Back to school shopping...

This is almost as bad as Christmas shopping, I have 2 teen boys who dress like their about to appear on an episode of ***** eye for the straight guy. I just dropped $700 for clothes and supplies and not even half finished!! When I was a kid my dad would bitch about buying paper and pencils.  When the kids were younger they didn't give a poo about what they wore now if the jeans cost less then $60 then they wont wear them. I will give credit I did enjoy not paying taxes today.

I gotta do some shopping too. New teacher clothes and some supplies the school doesn't cover.

Just a quick note- those of you who are financially able, consider donating to a church or other organization that supplies school products for kids in need. It's amazing how many of these kids can't afford the basics (or have parents who don't give a poo).

I usually hit up walmart for the school supplies. I can get most of the basics for about 20 bucks. Or if you watch the sales, you can get ads for first 5 for a penny type things that walmart will ad match so you dont have to travel and waste gas. A couple years ago i got 2 packs of g2 pens for 10 cents apiece from Walgreens. I bought every one in the store. I still have about 40 packs left.

Only thing I really splurge on is a really high quality backpack that can hold up multiple years. Military grade heavy duty canvas and zippers. That and I got a contractor grade storage clipboard because she loses pens like crazy and this way she can throw them in there. Got all of this for my granddaughter for about 100 bucks total but I clearance shop all year. She's in 4th grade this year. Also, we bought her school clothes when winter was coming and everything was 80% off. We went for function over fashion and spent about 150 there for about 8 outfits.

This is normally when I buy all my business supplies for the year. I got college ruled notebooks, pens, pencils, binders, folders, and a few odds and ends for presentations for about 40 bucks. It's enough to last 3 employees for the year.

WTF

My parents never spent anywhere near 700 dollars for me. I went to K-Mart for my back-to-school clothes and Office Depot for my supplies. On average, my parents spent 300 bucks for me and my two siblings every year.

When I got to high school, my parents told me I was on my own for clothes and supplies. So, I got a job, and even then I spent about 70 dollars.

I swear, these freaking kids have it so easy nowadays. I didn't get a cell phone until my senior year in high school, and I paid for it. Yet, these little rug rats have the latest iPhone or Galaxy while mommy and daddy pay for it.

Soft ass little mofos.

you'd make a great baby boomer

I am a frequent contributor to donorschoose.org. Just pick a school (for whatever reason) or a project (for whatever reason) and make the donation.

Just bought the pencils/composition books/other school-mandated items on Amazon for my kindergartener... $55 plus tax.

For a kindergartener.

I spent $95ish at Amazon and I haven't gotten the supply list from his teacher but I don't mind buying school supplies. I typically buy extras and stuff throughout the year.

My kid doesn't give a poo what he wears yet. But I do!

    • He's right. Tepper ain't the one out there dropping balls, or missing blocks, or putting up having comically bad drafts. He's the one responsible for hiring the people that have kept our scouting department that has been one of the worst at evaluating college talent in the NFL.  He forced the transition to the 3-4 even though we've never fully committed to it and never been able to draft or sign the players to do it.  He's the one that signed used car salesman Fat Fhule that hadn't even won a game against a ranked opponent.  Then he signed a GM that was one of if not the worst GM in the history of the NFL, only to replace him with his assistant.  Frank Reich hired and fired in 9 games. Multiple potential hires for HC turning down interviews.  Changing QBs like underwear. Personal quest to trade for a sexual predator QB and would have if the contract didnt have to be 100% guaranteed.  Terrible contracts Rock Hill debacle  2023 trade up to 1 and him and his wife drafting BY  Worst defense in NFL history. Worst record in major league sports over the time frame of his ownership and the fans need to be patient and understanding of an 8 year and counting rebuild? There being any fans left is a goddamn miracle.
