i know the above comment may be a joke, but ealy may prove to be a bigger headache than is needed on the team. would hate cutting such a high pick, but in the long term i wouldn't be upset.

I cant see cutting Ealy after one meh season.  We have to let him play out his second year before we make any decisions.  Why do you say Ealy may be a headache ?

This Ealy stuff is getting a bit ridiculous. He had a very unspectacular season as a rookie, which we all expected. Now, one preseason game into 2015, and people are calling him a bust. Things aren't looking good, but let's give him some time.

Bell is gone, so someone inherits the incessant bitching.... For the moment Ealy is in the lead... The fact that he had productive field time as a rookie keeps me from getting too terribly worried about him. Rivera works wonders with these D-Line guys. Hardy was a liability in parts of his game until Rivera coached him up. Ealy hasn't even taken a snap in his 2nd regular season.

Huddle reactions are entertaining to say the least. I'm not worried about Ealy.  He will come around.

Though considered "unspectacular" by some,  Ealy had a solid season (particularly for a rookie DE).  Cut him?  Nah.  It's too early for such talk.  

Plus...do you remember all those receivers still on the board with so much potential and upside...?  That would be the worst part of it from my perspective. 

Lastly,  the PS would be the better option,  but even that would  be crazy.

You know its funny, sometimes when a player falls in the draft further than people think it doesn't mean you are getting a steal, sometimes it means you are getting a player that no one else wanted.  Look at ajayi this year, he dropped to the 5th round because of his knees and the dolphins thought they had a steal.  And now he can't even move past lamichael James on the depth chart.  Gettlemen might have made that pick with an eye on hardy and the situation we have now, which isn't a bad idea, but Ealy just hasn't panned out so far.

 

But I will saysay this, I thought the entire defense played like garbage during that game.  From Thomas Davis down to that Regis kid who essentially started.  I don't think it means anything particularly bad, just that they need to step it up next week.

2 players that went up from year 1 to 2, Kony need to do that. Nothing backwards

Kony is not the most popular guy in the locker room, far from it, but he isn't going anywhere during his rookie contract. Too much upside.
