I just knew I saw it. When I see all the comments about individual WRs, and running backs looking good coupled eith that I assumed it meant the offense looked good early. It was later that week that it seemed to change and they struggled.

The first two days of camp are like the first two days of school. Everyone settling in.  Once the pads went on,  the defense dominated every day.

So the real question is, should we be more excited about the defense, or more concerned about the offense?

I dread the day Shula is gone and people have nothing to fall back on as far as blaming.

Hes not great, but sometimes our offense just doesn't click. It's comedically sporadic in its efficiency.

Yeah right Ron needs to get a better OC, he passed over a couple names

I mean...look at our O and Cam with Davidson, and then look at it with Shula...talent has stayed about the same. Had smitty, had benjamin. The point of the matter is, is with Davidson we were aggressive and put up points. With Shula it's impressive if we score 20 plus.

Are you talking about Jeff Davidson?

Not to be mean dude, but Jeff Davidson was gone when Cam got here.  He's only had Chudzinski and Shula, and Benjamin has only had Shula.

Did you mean Chudzinski?

lol what?

Besides the fact that your time frames are completely off, Davidson was probably our worst oc ever.

I'm hoping he meant Chud haha

We're still building towards Cam's strengths as a squad which in effect makes Shula's offense more effective.

I think the biggest asset we could use an upgrade to on offense (outside of LT of course)--would be over Dickson but it's probably not this year.  If we found an all-around type TE that could take care of outside linemen and score, that with Funchess, KB, and Olsen would be ridiculous.

Don't forget that Chud the offensive genius was blamed for going "full retard" and for looking toward being a head coach when our offense was stagnant in his final year.

Maybe people just like to blame the lowest common denominator when things don't go well.

    • I don't know; I think it's close for the first half and if it gets ugly it'll be in the second half.
    • The thing is, I feel like last Sunday validated what I have been saying about Bryce.  And this is why I'm somewhat optimistic. He isn't a good QB, let me make that clear before the brigade storms into this thread, but the biggest difference between Bryce before last week and Bryce in the second half of last season was his lack of confidence and willingness to make plays downfield.  Last week was the first time this season he's had that "F It" mentality, the same he had when he came back last year when he just looked and played care-free (in a good way; he had a positive energy).  We need him to keep that energy the rest of the season because if he does, we can win games. It ain't always about being good.  Hell Jameis Winston isn't good (better than Bryce, but still), but he plays with such a confidence that his teams always have a chance.   If Bryce is down to be as aggressive as he was last week, I think the opportunities will be there against a weak and injured 49ers defense.
    • I don't have a great feeling about this game, but after last night I have a real good feeling about our chances to win the division. I think we might actually have a fair amount of wiggle room if Baker is out for an extended period of time, especially if he misses one or both of the games against us. 9-8 could very well win the NFC South this year. Hell, depending on how long Mayfield is out I wouldn't be shocked to see 8-9 win it.
