Football is a funny thing, Part Two

It's true. Lucas did well to convert to TE, but he still needs a year to learn how to block. Swolebones is a better blocker and a decent receiver. I'm bit disappointed to see Todman go to be honest.

The fourth preseason doesn't really matter as much. They look at the OTA's, camp and the other games.

It's like Ginn is back. Melvin White who caused the fumble in the playoffs, and Reddick who recovered are both gone.

you must not have read the first installment of this heralded series.

Here's an even funnier thing.

With the release of Stanley Jean-Baptiste, the Saints will be going into the 2015 season with only one of their six picks from the 2014 draft on their active roster.

Their two fifth round picks are on IR, but their fourth, sixth and now second rounder (SJB) have all been let go.

Brandin Cooks is all that's left.

Mickey Loomis is considered by the NFL media to be one of the best GMs in the league.

Most "rankings" by that same media have Loomis in the top 10 and Nippleshorts in the bottom half.

Not 8 RB's obviously.

But if you have 5 RB's and 5 Safeties, Gettleman would have chosen the best players rather than keeping a player for need and cutting talent, according to his philosophy.

Gettleman's draft philosophy doesn't have to be the same as his/the team's roster setting mindset. The front office sees the draft as the place to pick up cheap talent. The roster is set based on many factors with need being a large part of the equation...you have to field a complete team. If some of your talent doesn't fit your need...well, talent might play second fiddle.
