Philly Brown and Ted Ginn Jr are the worst starting receiver tandem in the league...

I think this is undisputed. How many teams can you think of that made significant playoff runs while having the worst receivers in football? Not just bad, but 32nd out of 32?

I'm not hating on either of them, neither should have been cut. But we're starting the equivalent of 4th and 5th receivers from other team's squads as our 1 and 2 and it's just Week 1. Just how bad can this thing get if Ginn goes out there and breaks an ankle in the 3rd quarter?

Raiders aren't that much better off either. Michael Crabtree, who had a good year in 2012, but has otherwise been nothing to tell mom about in his career. Then Amari Cooper, who was great in college, but unproven as of yet as he is just a rookie. Things aren't looking great for Oakland either, folks.

We're not in a great spot, but let's not act like we're doomed.

you would take brown/ginn over two proven 1000-yard receivers?

Yep. I think Brown/Ginn CAN put up those kind of numbers. They've just been relegated to #3,4,5 spots on the depth chart, so they haven't put up the numbers. Harry Douglas only had his 1,000 yard season when he was finally put in a starting spot. Keep that in mind...

I feel like calling anything "Undisputed" before the first snap of the first regular season game is just reaching for shock value.  "oh hell he said it was undisputed I better get my sky-holding gloves on".

Of course it's not undisputed before there is a single metric...and even then calling a single position or position group "best" or "worst" in a game where every position on the field impacts every other position is highly debatable.

For that matter when did teams start using only two receivers?

I swear...people will bitch about anything.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
