Bears looking to trade Alshon???

I know you're one of those fans that can't see the big picture, but that would be a dumb move for the future of the team

Pretty much. No way you'd trade a high pick for less than a full season of games.

The only way that deal makes sense is if you confirm ahead of time that he'll sign an extension (unlikely given the circumstances).

The Oline is our best WR at the moment, By that, I mean that they are giving Cam the time to make Ginn look like a star, Olsen lead all TE's, etc.  Give it time.  Funchess is coming along, Philly is okay and Cotchery will be back.  Our bigger problem at the moment is DE, which we just addressed.  No need to jump every direction.

We spent a 1st round pick on a WR and then the following year traded up to get another WR in the 2nd round.

And yet still everyone wants to trade for more WR's? Is this position that glamorous to everybody?

Y'all would have absolutely LOVED Matt Millen as a GM.

i'd say that you seeing the Wide Receiver position as glamorous is part of the underlying fallacy with your understanding of people's hopes. It's the same line of dialogue that the nonsensical "dis aint madden brah hah!" crowd toss out to have to avoid a realistic discussion.

people see that the team is now going all out to win this year-as they should-and are discussing what has been a position of weakness on the team. Benjamin isnt playing and Funchess isnt contributing. Why would those players be relevant at all to the discussion at hand?

    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
    • In fairness, she is ensuring she is talked about.  People really aren’t going out there way to bring her up.  It’s some weird poo.  She would end up getting talked about given her actions if she was 40. Bill realizing some of these high end “companions” got a game of their own.  That’s what I don’t think Bill saw coming.
