Norman on Norman: SI.com

Excellent piece by Doug Farrar over at SI.com.

Josh Norman looks at film of himself and breaks it down for us. As usual per Josh, it's awesome.

Here he breaks down the pick six against Jameis Winston:

I had a safety over the top, and on that play, I just looked at it and anticipated the throw. I was just trying to crouch down like a tiger [laughs] so the quarterback wouldn't see me. Kind of disguising it. I don't think he saw me at all, and when he put the ball up, I said, “I cannot believe this—this is really coming to me!” So I broke on it the same way I broke on the one against Jacksonville, and again, just wanted to make sure I caught the ball. Then, I just ran as fast as I could, because I didn't want to get caught from behind by a quarterback [laughs]. That would not have been a Top 10 Play moment.

He's more important to our team's success than KK or Star, in my opinion. Re-signing him should be a priority over those two, IF it comes to deciding between them (and of course we have KK and Star already signed for next year and a possible 5th year option for Star). We really really need to keep him.

If he continues his current pace then yes he will be more important than KK or Star.

Short somehow managed to get a higher PFF score this last week, but yeah Norman has been the man this year. Problem is that he's going to want more money than KK or Star.

JNo_24 has earned the attention, but part of me wonders if he'd get as much publicity if he was under contract for another year or two. Just look at how the media eats out of Smitty' hands now that he's a Raven. Or how journalists could'nt suck off DeAngelo hard enough at the start of this season. Now it's how much Hardy will improve the Dallas defense.

They're probably hoping the nicer they are to Josh, it will help sway his mind on where to play next year. Too bad for them he's gonna get his fanny franchised tagged and be "forced" to play in such a small market, but I'm sure we'll get plenty of articles about how "unfair" the franchise tag is when that happens. After all, why would any player in their right mind want to play for such a backwater team that the sportswriters have no reason to visit?

I love Norman on our team this year.

However, I'd rather spend the money he will command this offseason on two pass rushers rather than a contact year elite corner.

Thanks, but no one cares.  We have an elite corner and after we release Harper and CJ we'll have so much cap room we can get a pass rusher, and the other side we'll have Alexander, Ealy, Delaire, and maybe Allen for the cheap.  I think that will suffice for now.
