Not sure if this is true (re: Eagles)

Skimmed the official Eagles boards for a little bit tonight, and saw something from a couple of fans that I have a hard time believing.

They said Chip Kelly doesn't game plan for specific opponents. He just implements his offense and runs it the same way every game.

That's a tough one to buy into.

Anyone else seen anything about this?

All I know is.. After the effort and energy they left out on the field last week in Seattle, this game had all the makings of one we'd usually lose. But with all the mistakes we had, the defense held their own and the offense did what they needed to do to best a good team in the eagles. That eagles defense looked pretty good too, and Stewart continually gashed them. I'm so impressed that we didn't have a letdown and continued this winning streak. Now it's time to beat the hell out of the colts on national TV next Monday night

With the story of an angry confrontation between the owner and the GM added to the tension that was already known to exist between the GM and the head coach, I don't think it's exaggerating to say that the  Colts are in full blown meltdown mode right now.

I think Rivera and the Keep Pounding mentality keeps this team focused on the game at hand.

You could say the Colt game could be a trap game because of the GB game the following week.

Each week our team leaders and Rivera keep them focused.

6-0 is proof.

which is one reason why we should throttle them.. Luck having a down year being another reason

Funny how Poppa Luck advised his boy that the Colts were the more stable franchise

What? He didn't have that choice as they were situations separated by a year. When Luck decided to stay Manning was leading the Colts in to the playoffs and his neck issue was yet to occur.

You're correct, but Luck could have stayed in school for another year. One can somewhat read between the lines, but there can't be any rational fans who don't appreciate Cam at this point.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
