A player I am very, very familiar with.

Former Auburn All-American Reese Dismukes has joined the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers. The NFL team announced on Tuesday afternoon that it had signed Dismukes for its practice squad.

To make room for Dismukes, Carolina released center Eric Kush from the practice squad. Kush played in three games for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013.

Dismukes was a Parade All-American for Spanish Fort's 2010 AHSAA Class 5A championship team. A four-year starter at Auburn, Dismukes concluded his collegiate career by being recognized as a consensus All-American and winning the 2014 Rimington Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation's finest center.

1. He's intimately familiar with read-option and pulling schemes in the run game (which are used as part of the base-offense at Auburn) and snapping from the shot-gun.

2. Not a huge center (very much the size of Kalill actually) and not a "mauler" either... more of a "technician" type. NEEDS to get stronger to have any future in the NFL.  I've seen him listed as a guard on some sites, but dude just ain't strong enough or big enough to play guard in the NFL in my opinion.

3. Four year starter in the SEC though, and you can't shake a stick at that.

Not a bad kid to have on the PS and see what he's got IMO.

I thought we had an open spot on the PS.

Why'd we need to cut someone?

I was the same as you until yesterday. They kinda ninja'd Foulcalt back to the PS after they brought Bersin up. I was sitting here thinking that Gettleman hadn't re-signed him.

    • That's one of the most sober and honest breakdowns I've seen of Bryce.   That guys is being as real as can be.  No sugar coating, no tepidness to critique, blunt and straight to the point.
    • If you think someone shared some bad data on PFF (and is falsely slandering your PFF) well....then you post the QB rankings and show where that 71.5 stacks up week 1 vs the field.  I don't pay for PFF and won't.  I just go off of what others say on PFF.
    • but it's pretty obvious, everyone who watches football simply knew....BY didn't outplay Trevor.   It just didn't happen.  And you didn't think it happened.  Because it didn't happen.  but, if you want to go back after the fact, slo mo film AND you just want things to of been better for Bryce?  Well, you can make that happen.   All you got to do is put on glasses and have the want.   You will find whatever you need.  Well, you know what....maybe he didn't botch that easy throw to Renfrow for a TD.  Maybe it was the pressure that forced a bad throw.  Everyone else could of been better.  It's really the OL that was bad.  Nothing he could of done now that I think about it.  Nevermind he could of just thrown it on time for an easy big play and the pressure wouldn't of existed....or the fact NFL QBs got to make it even with that type pressure.
