Water resistant. Not water proof.

Wear a poncho.

My Columbia raincoat should be ok - only thing is I want to take my camera to take a few photos/atmosphere vids at a point or two before/after the game. May have to only use my phone (for the Look Where I Am texts) in the covered concourse.

I want to get a programme and some merch from the store too, so tempted to go to uptown when it opens, buy them, then drop them off back home before the Riot tailgate.

I'm driving from Tryon, NC. for those who don't know where that's at, it's in the western part of the Carolinas on the state line about halfway in between Asheville and Spartanbug.

But I'm with you. 1.5 hour drive to get poured on and I will love every minute of it! Haha.

I know where Tryon is. I live in the megatropolis of Mill Spring. lol

All homerism aside, the Panthers/Saints game in '13 was the single greatest sporting event I've ever attended. I truly thought that fans would not show up and once the rain got to nearly hurricane status, that casual fans would also empty out.  Not the case at all and it felt like a huge house party of people bonded together by the rain. Drinking got heavier, but it was such a supportive atmosphere, and we were rewarded with the stadium shaking after the amazing touchdown.

I hope fans come out and stay out regardless of weather tonight. We are on the brink of being top cats in the NFC and we get to watch Cam show up Neckbeard on national tv.

I want some Sidestreet Pizza damn it!!  I will eat it soggy in the pouring rain while "OUR" Panthers stomp a mud hole in the Colts and walk it dry.

Oh my Lord.....I cannot wait for 5 pm to get here.  Work cannot end fast enough.  Then I am on my way uptown for the festivities to begin!!  Rain be damned!

Where is the tailgate going to be at?  And will it still be jumping if the weather stays like this?

    • in starts, he has played better, been more efficient and outproduced Bryce by virtually every statistical metric that exists in 2025.  And has the 2 head to heads over Carolina.  I mean, your jaw should hit the floor.  But not for the reason you are implying.  That freaking stings.  Denying these realities isn't going to help the Panthers build a better team going forward.
    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
