I told you guys to pump the breaks on Norman.  He had to prove himself more.

well, I was wrong.  dude is ballin  out of his mind.   Never seen CB play like this in Carolina.  Awesome.  In my best John Malchovich impression from Rounders..."pay him...pay that man his money"

As a GM you dig and search for players that fit your mold.  We dug deep and grabbed a young man out of Coastal Carolina College. Rivera, McDermott and Wilks turned this lump of coal into a flawless diamond.  He is clearly the best DB in the league and dares a QB to throw his way.

As the GM how do you justify letting him go?  The money we will pay him will be worth the investment.  Are we going to find another DB that can cover like Norman?  I don't think so.

Same reaction we all had.

Shoot, I was already freaking out when it was 26-13, because it seemed like anything and everything was going against us.

Sorry to derail this thread though, Josh Norman deserves all the praise he gets and then some. He's the Smitty of the defense, IMO. Even Luke and TD don't seem to be as intense as he is, and that's saying something.

Even better, resign him and draft one of the top CBs in the draft next year and finally get that elite secondary like broncos and seattle. We would definitely run the NFC

i must admit i was skeptical about offering a long term contract with only half a season of experience but i was completely wrong. and i know that the Gman prefers to build the DL and piece together the secondary, but JNo is arguably the most important member of the defense, maybe asides from Luke and TD. while CJ may get shut down by a dominant OL or Star and KK kept quiet by double teams, JNo is able to essentially create a black hole on the other teams #1 WR. lock him up long term please.

    • this is true.  But NFL Ss and defenses are actively taking that away and playing to take them away vs most teams.  The problem thus far in BY's career......is they are cheating and not respecting the deep game which makes the smaller/mid range game harder to pull off.  and Dallas is an anomaly game.  using those random games as well, look at this......doesn't really change the discussion/issues in Carolina.  Bryce Young took the shots this week because they were not just NFL open but college open.    Wide open dudes downfield that really were coverage busts/issues.
    • I will simply counter all that with: you should always strive, at every turn, to avoid indoctrinating young players into a culture of not playing to win the game.  Come man, that is an egghead academic approach that ignores the human element. it looks good on paper. Maybe.  In the voice of the great  Herm Edwards: Hello! You play to win the game.  I completely understand the need but that is not the way….
    • I wouldn't mind a te room of LaPorta,  Musgrave and b strange
