Strep throat sucks, but a round of antibiotics and he'll be fine.  Your symptoms are virtually gone after 48 hours on antibiotics and you're no longer contagious after 24 hours on antibiotics.  He's playing.

The question is which THOT gave him that.

Oral antibiotics usually take 7-10 days to completely knock it out. However one injection of  streptomycin and your asymptomatic in 24 hours. ( No I'm  not a MD.  But have been in healthcare for about 34 years).

This. I have the unfortunate joy of getting strep at least once a year. Had a really mild case last week actually. Get the Z pack and it takes about 3-4 days to feel better. Get that shot and you feel cured by the end of the next day

btw to all you tough guys acting like bacterial strep is nothing- yes it's highly curable with antibiotics but you feel like absolute ASS the first few days. Josh needs to rest.

Like I said, I had two bouts of it this summer.  Within 48 hours of beginning the antibiotic cycle you feel pretty much back to normal.  Yeah, you feel like ass up until then, but Norman certainly started his antibiotic cycle this morning.  He'll be just fine by game day, but probably won't practice at all until then.

Yeah but he wouldn't be there three hours before either.

Starts super early, got injury recovery, weight lifting, then mid morning meetings followed by film study, game plans...ext...

Usually starts between 7-8am. With that plus the knowledge that Josh is notated as being one of the first guys in the building, it's very conceivable that he was in the building this morning at 7am.

Most family practice docs don't really like to give the shot due to it being painful (given deep intramuscular : buttocks), so they prescribe oral antibiotics, effective but slower

I have to ask for it actually. I was told all it is is penicilin so if you are allergic it isnt for you. Painful as hell and sore for a few hours but start to notice affects later the same day usuall.
