when the playoffs come, we might need his help..

8-0, fuggin YEAH!!! i am so stoked, i really am. I think we have a massively under-valued WR squad by media and others- thats all anyone ever says- "Olsen is good but these skill players suck. Cam is amazing... cliche, cliche, toughness, mean streak, leader, cliche, cliche"

They have done a great job so far- but seriously, how much longer can we get by with Funch, Cotch, Philly and Ginn? When the playoffs come, we will need someone that will demand attention from a 2nd defender or be able to win 1-on-1 matchups +60% of the time. And since the trade deadline has passed- who else could we bring in to help the WR corps that might just be sitting on their couch?

Don't brush this off as another stupid thread.. the Megatron and Smitty trade rumors were stupid and never gonna happen. This might actually makes sense, IMO. Welker never lost a step or was ineffective. He took a lot of hits from bailing out Peyton and Brady on the short routes over the middle. I think someone will take a chance on him- probably Green Bay (because they miss Jordy Nelson so bad) and they will improve and be a different team in the playoffs- when we meet them again.

Let's do it before he goes somewhere else. He would be cheap, vet-min signing for a 1 year contract I'm sure.

Yeah, they still leave a lot to be desired, but honestly, i dont see gettleman bringing anyone else in this season.  Its just too late in the season and we're 8-0.  I'm pretty sure he is thinking, "if it aint broke..."

And besides, Welker is not a fit here at all.

    • And really, it should be 4 reasons with the last one being that there were ZERO other offensive weapons on that team in 2024, opposing defenses only had to worry about one player all year long and they constantly double and triple teamed him right off the snap all season.  In 2023, we still had Jacob Cowing who had 90 catches that year and was drafted by the 49ers last year, so teams couldn't just send everyone after T-Mac on every passing down.
    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
